31b Swedish Course Outline Class Title: Body MobilizationTechniques 3 Course and Hours: Swedish 3.5 Summary of Content: Guided practice of all BMT’s learned so far, integrated with Swedish techniques, see packet and PPT for list of techniques (I: 65, same as below), and suggested integrated routine (Pa I: 66). 1. Lift and roll 2. Shoulder Mobilization Release (standing/seated) 3. Gluteal & Hamstring Compression 4. Ankle ROM/ Gastroc. Accordian 5. Hitch Hiker 6. Reflex Compression 7. Shoulder Rocking Instructional Objectives: Students will do a guided routine of the BMT’s integrated into Swedish routine focusing on increased coordination and self- assurance - see Pa I:66. Format: 15 minutes Discussion and movement 10 minutes Set up tables 20 minutes Run through names of techniques (ppt), see if anyone needs redemo or explanation 60 minutes Practice 1 (using PPT of Pa I: 66) 10 minutes Break 60 minutes Practice 2 10 minutes Break 10 minutes Take down tables and discussion 31b Material to be used Source Material TLC packet BMT PPT Lesson Plan Class Title: Body Mobilization Technique #3 Stretching Guidelines: Overall warm up. Demo Guidelines: Instructor demo any techniques requested, or give tips about smooth transitions in integration of techniques with Swedish. Practical Guidelines: Instructors use the integrated routine in the packet and PPT. As students practice, instructor should re-emphasize: taking moves to the point of resistance and no further, proper biomechanics, moves should be non-fatiguing, working cooperatively with partner, be playful when encountering any client resistance to moves. Lecture Guidelines Mention to students that they will be graded on the performance and integration of BMT’s in their second practical exam. Discussion Guidelines Encourage student pairs to give appropriate feedback regarding the comfort and ease of the techniques, the draping, pressure used, etc. Talk about any learning/ struggles that happened as a result of these classes.
