Alexander B. Berry Jr./Parrish Memorial Endowed Scholarship: Established April 5, 1989 honoring Alexander B. Berry, Jr. and Linwood G. Parrish, to give support to those students who could not attend college without financial assistance. Recipients shall be rising sophomores or higher, shall have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 and shall be majoring in any College of Business program. They shall have demonstrated leadership and citizenship capabilities. Choice of recipients shall be based initially on financial need and secondly on recommendation of faculty and friends of the College of Business. Recipients shall be chosen by a committee appointed by the Dean of the College of Business. Bilbrey, Busing, Reid, Tansky & Teer Endowed Beta Gamma Sigma Scholarship: This scholarship is intended to benefit a potential or present outstanding, full-time student(s) with a Bachelor of Business Administration major that has a financial need. Preference may be given to an entering outstanding freshman student(s) with financial need and who has declared a Bachelor of Business Administration major. The scholarship could be renewed for a maximum of ten full-time semesters including any transfer credits as long as the student remains eligible. Michael Matthew Brown Memorial Scholarship: An endowed scholarship established in memory of Michael Brown, who died Jan. 3, 1992. He attended JMU from 1987 to 1991 and majored in Accounting Information Systems. The recipient shall have a major in the College of Business must demonstrate financial need; 3.25 GPA or above; extracurricular activities. The scholarship will be awarded each year and is non-renewable. Michael L. Carrier {'87, '91) Memorial Scholarship Endowment in the College of Business: The Purpose of the Gift is to create the Michael L. Carrier ('87, '91) Memorial Scholarship Endowment in the College of Business in memory of their son, Michael L. Carrier. Memorial gifts were received previously at the family's request and in conjunction with these gifts, Dr. and Mrs. Carrier would like to establish an endowment for a scholarship to be awarded annually to students pursuing a major in the College of Business. To qualify as a Carrier Scholar, the recipient must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. The Betty Coe '64 & Paul J. Cinquegrana Scholarship Endowment for Entrepreneurship, Ethics and Leadership in the College of Business: A scholarship endowment established with a generous gift from Betty Coe Cinquegrana, the Betty Coe '64 & Paul J. Cinquegrana Scholarship Endowment for Entrepreneurship, Ethics and Leadership in the College of Business will benefit a student with the following qualifications: 1.) Demonstrate financial need as determined by the University’s Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships 2.) Be a junior or senior engaged in studies in the College of Business with demonstrated interest or concentration in: a) Entrepreneurship (such as Management majors with concentration in Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship; students enrolled in or who have completed the MGT 472 Venture Creation class; and/or students involved in the activities or programs of the Center for Entrepreneurship) and/or b) Free Enterprise, Business Ethics or Ethical Leadership (such as Management majors with concentration in Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship or students involved in the activities or programs of the Gilliam Center for Free Enterprise and Ethical Leadership) Boehm Family Scholarship Endowment: Through this Scholarship, funds will be provided annually to an outstanding undergraduate student scholar enrolled in the College of Business who demonstrates a need for financial assistance, as determined by the University's Office of Financial Aid. Nancy Revercomb Brubaker ‘56 Endowed Scholarship for Foreign Exchange Students in the College of Business: An endowed scholarship established Daniel W. Brubaker & Nancy Revercomb Brubaker '56 known as the Nancy Revercomb Brubaker '56 Endowed Scholarship for Foreign Exchange Students in the College of Business, will support outstanding foreign exchange student scholars studying on campus as part of the College's international exchange program. . Craig C. Bram '80 & Kimberly Gooch Bram '80 Endowed Scholarship Fund: A merit based endowed scholarship for the College of Business established by Craig C. Bram '80 & Kimberly Gooch Bram '80. Through this scholarship, funds will be provided annually to an outstanding undergraduate student in the College of Business. Adolph Coors Foundation Business Scholarship: An endowed scholarship for a student in the College of Business. Gregory W. Cross 1975, 1978 and Linda Weiss Cross 1977 Endowed Family Scholarship: An endowed scholarship established with a gift from Gregory W. Cross 1975, 1978 and Linda Weiss Cross 1977 to provide the financial resources for an endowed scholarship in the College of Business. Through this Scholarship, funds will be provided annually to outstanding undergraduate students, including both students entering college for the first time and students already enrolled in college. Elizabeth and Melvin Eldridge Scholarship: An endowed scholarship established by Carol Eldridge and William B. Eubank. Recipients shall have a minimum grade point average of 2.5, shall be rising seniors and shall have a major in any College of Business program. Demonstrate leadership and citizenship capabilities. Recipients shall be chosen by a committee appointed by the Dean of the College of Business. Charlotte Evans Floyd ('48) Scholarship Endowment in the College of Business: A scholarship endowment to be established with a testamentary gift from Charlotte Evans Floyd ('48), the Charlotte Evans Floyd ('48) Scholarship Endowment in the College of Business is to be awarded annually at the discretion of the Dean of the College of Business to a deserving student who has demonstrated his or her commitment to pursue a career in Business. Ferguson Family Scholarship Endowment: An endowed scholarship created with a gift made by Janet Ferguson for the benefit of James Madison University and will provide the financial resources to establish and support the Ferguson Family Scholarship Endowment in the College of Business. Through this Scholarship, funds will be provided annually to one or more outstanding undergraduate student scholars enrolled in the College of Business who demonstrate a need for financial assistance, as determined by the University's Office of Financial Aid. The appointment of a student as a Ferguson Family Scholar shall follow the University's guidelines for the awarding of scholarships; provided, however, that the following criteria shall be part of the decision-making process. Specifically: Students must be residents of Augusta County or the City of Staunton at the time they are considered as candidates for this scholarship. Students shall not be selected for this scholarship solely on the basis of their academic achievement, but, may be considered on the basis of their potential and need. In the event that there are no students from Augusta County or the City of Staunton eligible to receive this scholarship in a given year, then the scholarship may be awarded to a student who is a resident of the Commonwealth of Virginia. A-J ('92) & Beth Fischer Scholarship Endowment in Finance for the College of Business: An endowed scholarship established with a gift by A-J and Beth Fischer to provide the financial resources to establish and support the A-J ('92) & Beth Fischer Scholarship Endowment in Finance for the College of Business. This scholarship shall be merit-based - and, all students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance may be eligible for consideration without regard to their place of residence, with the selection of Fischer Scholars to be made in a manner determined at the discretion of the Dean for the College of Business. Philip Wade Hall Memorial Scholarship: An endowed scholarship established by Mr. and Mrs. James L. Hall in memory of their son Philip, a rising senior at JMU, to fund a scholarship to students majoring in business. Restricted to students from Virginia, with preference given to those from First Colonial High School in Virginia Beach or from the Tidewater area. Heath-Mullin Family Scholarship: An endowed scholarship established by Holly Heath Mullin, '79 and William J. Mullin in honor of the many persons in their family who have either attended or been employed by James Madison University. This scholarship is intended to benefit a JMU student who is a Virginia resident with a major in the College of Business. If at any time the student recipient fails to meet the requirements or when the student graduates, a new student will be selected based on the established criteria. Norm Kuhl Memorial Scholarship: An endowed scholarship created by The Adolph Coors Brewery- Shenandoah, the Norm Kuhl Scholarship Fund to support James Madison University College of Business was established in memory of Norm Kuhl, former plant manager for The Coors Brewery Shenandoah, who exceeded in life despite significant hardships. This scholarship is intended to benefit a College of Business student who has need or has experienced a hardship. If at any time the student recipient fails to meet the requirements of when the student graduates, a new student will be selected based on the established criteria. Murray & Sandra Lane Accounting Scholarship Endowment: An endowed scholarship established with a gift by Meda S. Lane '71, her husband, Christopher English, her brother, Richard G. Lane, and his wife, Ellen F. Lane in memory of her parents, Murray B. Lane, Jr., CPA and Sandra K. Lane, who highly valued education and instilled this value in their children. The Lane family wishes to honor their memory by helping to make education more affordable for others. The Murray & Sandra Lane Accounting Scholarship Endowment in the College of Business will provide funds annually to an outstanding undergraduate student scholar who is enrolled in the College of Business and demonstrates the need for financial assistance as determined by the University's Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. Jacqueline V. McGhee Memorial Scholarship: An endowed scholarship established by Fredric I. McGhee, in memory of his wife, Jacqueline V. McGhee, in recognition of her commitment to the education of their children. She was very proud that each of their four children graduated from James Madison University. This scholarship is intended to benefit a rising senior studying within the JMU College of Business. The student must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.25. The student must demonstrate both outstanding leadership ability and dedication to service. Madison Business Scholarship Endowment: An endowed scholarship established with a philanthropic gift by Jason M. Minton '03, James D. Bonnell ’02, Michael J. Marcantonio '03, Michael Lentine '03, David M. Krause '03, James M. McDonald '02 and Jonathan D. McWhinney '02, known here as the Madison Business Scholarship Group; the Madison Business Scholarship Endowment will provide funds annually to one (or more) outstanding undergraduate student scholar(s). The appointment of a student as a Madison Business Group Scholar shall follow the University's guidelines for the awarding of scholarships and the criteria set forth below. The manner of administration for the scholarship selection process shall be at the discretion of the Dean for the College of Business; and, this selection process shall be guided by the following criteria. Specifically, candidates for this scholarship must: Have a minimum of a 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) grade point average at the time their candidacy for this scholarship is under consideration; Demonstrates financial need - determined by the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships; Demonstrates exceptional moral character and a well-rounded personality - evidenced by active involvement within the James Madison University community and the community. McDonald Bradley Scholarship for Leadership in the College of Business: An endowed scholarship established by Kenneth R. Bartee ('83) and Sharon Schaaf with a generous gift in memory of James T. Bradley for the benefit of James Madison University under an Agreement dated March 30, 2009 to create The McDonald Bradley Scholarship for Leadership in The College of Business. This endowment will provide financial resources annually to one or more outstanding rising Junior or Senior students. To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must: (a) Be enrolled or accepted in the College of Business, with a declared major in Computer Information Systems or Management (b) Be enrolled in (or have completed) the COB 300 course (c) Have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) at the time of application (d) Be a resident advisor or hall director for a university residence hall John "Jack" McNelis Scholarship: An endowed scholarship established to honor the memory of John "Jack" McNelis. Scholarships are restricted to JMU Business majors. William and Arlene Murphy Scholarship Endowment in the College of Business: An endowed scholarship established by Douglas A. Murphy ('92) in memory of his parents, William and Arlene Murphy, for their love and support. Through this scholarship endowment, Mr. Murphy intends to assist College of Business students whose primary residence is in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, or The Bronx, New York. Zane D. Showker Business Scholarship: An endowed scholarship intended to benefit a JMU student in the College of Business. The recipient must have and maintain a minimum 3.0 grade point average. The recipient to be selected is to be a Junior or Senior who has shown an aptitude for business and has displayed outstanding leadership within the College of Business. The student will continue to receive this scholarship as long as he/she remains an active, full time student at JMU within the College of Business and continues to meet the scholarship requirements. If at any time the student recipient fails to meet the requirements or when the student graduates, a new student will be selected based on the established criteria. Charles Skeens ('79, '80) Endowment for Scholarships in Business: An endowed scholarship established by Charles Skeens, The Charles Skeens ('79, '80) Endowment for Scholarships in Business shall provide financial resources on an annual basis to support scholarships for students in the College of Business who demonstrate a commitment to a career in business. The selection of a student as a Charles Skeens Scholar will be based on a review of what the student has done and is doing to prepare for a career in business. Wright Family Scholarship: An endowed scholarship established by William F. Wright in memory of his sister, Eleanor Wright, Class of 1963, because of their family devotion to each other, and in gratitude to the University. This scholarship is intended to benefit a full time student in good academic standing, who is pursuing an academic program within the College of Business, and who is a Virginia resident. It is preferred that the same student receives this scholarship during his/her four years of college. If at any time the student recipient fails to meet the requirements, or when the student graduates, a new student will be selected based on the established criteria. Additional scholarships may be awarded when expendable income is sufficient to fund other scholarships for additional student recipients.
