team decision-making skills. Work in teams to develop a state-wide forecast discussion, individually create 5-day
forecasts for smaller regions. Hone communication skills in video and radio forecasts as well as writing discussions.
PSU Storm Chase Team · 2013-present · As secretary 2014-2015: exhibit organization and time management skills as
well as communication efficiency. Participated in 10-day storm chase trips to Tornado Alley in May 2014/15 to build
research, teamwork, and decision-making experience in the field. Club hosts speakers and events to explore and learn
about severe weather systems.
PSUBAMS · 2012-present · Secretary · PSU’s branch of the American Meteorological Society · Improving communication
and networking skills. Attended the AMS conference in Phoenix, AZ in 2015 and learned about social media tools,
impact-based warning systems, forecasting techniques, and how to apply these to my existing skill set. I came out of the
week more confident in what I know and what I can learn.

Penn State Outing Club · 2012-present · Working with a large group of people to plan hiking and camping trips and other
outdoor volunteer projects, as well as organize for groups to travel and fundraise for the Penn State Dance Marathon,
THON, which raises money for the Four Diamonds Fund at Hershey Medical Center.
Study Abroad · Summer 2013 · Through the CIEE program · Improved communication skills and confidence while taking
a Spanish-taught course and living in Seville, Spain. Walked El Camino during my time there.
