Federation Proposal Background The Warren School and Robert Clack School - Considering Federation Background February 2013 The Warren School goes into special measures Sir Paul Grant immediately agrees to help March 2013 Action Plan to support the school in place, with Sir Paul’s support. Monitoring Board set up, SPG begins mentoring support for Warren Headteacher. Significant school to school support begins to be provided by Robert Clack May 2013 It is apparent that there is insufficient senior leadership expertise at the Warren. Discussions begin about how Robert Clack School could further support the Warren June 2013 Robert Clack School agree to Richard Micek being based at the Warren. Further agreement to RM being seconded to LA to work as Advisory Headteacher to The Warren School. July/August 2013 DFE Academy brokers inform The Warren that Loxford has been agreed as a sponsor Academy for The Warren. Following significant support from Robert Clack School, Warren pupils have their best ever GCSE results (15% increase) October 2013 HMI visit to The Warren positive recognition of progress made in behaviour and outcomes. HMI recognises strong leadership support from Robert Clack and views that the current arrangements are effective. The Warren GB reject Loxford as an Academy Sponsor and re-affirm their appreciation of the Robert Clack support, and desire to continue this relationship. Mr Van Rensburg resigns from Warren School (31st October). Mr Micek appointed as Acting Headteacher. November 2013 Lord Nash makes clear his intention to impose an Academy Order and an IEB (18th Nov). Counsel advice sought. Hard federation is essential if we are to demonstrate the stable relationship LN requires to reconsider his current view. 28th November 2013 The Warren GB unanimous vote to challenge Lord Nash’s view and to seek to Federate with Robert Clack School. Re-affirm support for Mr Micek and Sir Paul, and gratitude to Robert Clack School. December 3rd 2013 Representations returned to Lord Nash Robert Clack governors meet to consider federation proposal. Unanimous agreement to go to consultation.
