Required for engineering technology and construction management (ETCM) majors only. Required for engineering majors only. Not required for any College of Engineering major./Duel Credit HS Coursework Notes: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Students will either take Common Core Math IV, AFM, Discrete Math or Pre-Calculus. Students wishing to be admitted to the Lee College of Engineering must take PreCalculus or a higher-level Calculus course and earn a grade of at least a C. All foreign language high school credit will be earned via NC Virtual Public High School. Math SAT or ACT equivalent, AP math score, Early College High School credit, or transfer credit will be used to place students in the next college-level mathematics course at UNC Charlotte. Pre-Calculus (MATH 1103) if the first required mathematics course in the civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering technology curricula. College algebra (MATH 1100) is the first required mathematics course in the Fire Safety Engineering Technology curriculum but effective fall 2015 this will be changed to MATH 1103. Calculus I (MATH 1241) is the first required mathematics course in all engineering curricula. “Engineering Analysis” is an applied Calculus course. Students should confirm choice of electives (science, social science, or other) approved for each program of study prior to registration as they are subject to revision. Students may substitute 2 college Humanities courses for Foreign Language in grades 11and 12.
