Geometry Construction Project Name: ___________________ Pd: _______________ This final construction project is due Nov 20th and counts as two tests grades. All pages and instructions will be due on that date. Check points have been included to ensure that students are not waiting until the last minute to finish the entirety of the project. Check Point One – The cover page and pages 1-6 must be completed and turned in on Nov. 6th for 32 points. Check Point Two- Pages 7- 12 must be completed and turned in on Nov 13th for 30 points. Check Point Three-Pages 13-18 must be completed and turned in on Nov 20th for 30 points. Check Point Four-Turn in Regular Polyhedron made from equilateral triangles inscribed in a circle for 8 points. Due Dec. 1st. Directions for Completing the Construction Project. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. The constructions and should be completed on blank white copy paper using pencil or colored pencils only. (Computer print, ink, or markers are not acceptable for the construction part of the project.) The project will consist of a cover page, 10 constructions, and a set of instructions for each construction. The instructions for each construction must be neatly hand written in pen on copy paper. The instructions can be found in the handout given or on pages 47-55 of the old Analytic Geometry EOCT Study Guide on the Eagle’s Landing Website. Go to teachers, scroll to Mrs. Witham’s name and click, click on the study guide on the left and then click study guide on right. Scroll to the correct pages. The project should be neat and clear of stray marks. The curves drawn with the compass and other auxiliary lines used to make the construction should be visible on the paper. Follow the instructions of each construction closely. Place project in a 3 prong folder with a cover page in the correct order and turn in on time at each check point. Use paper to construct a regular icosahedron using 20 circles with equilateral triangles inscribed in a circle. Instructions can be found at the following websites: http://www.homemade-gifts-made-easy.com/easy-to-make-christmas-ornaments.html http://www.ucandostuff.com/Guide-1465-How%20to%20make%20an%20Icosahedron%20from%20circles.aspx Pages to be completed for the project: Cover Page – Type your name, your teacher’s name, and the title of the project.
