When: During each assigned ELA block on Tuesday, October 20th Important Details: Students have self-selected a book to read on this day and will practice reading the book aloud with purpose over the next two weeks. During that time, they are encouraged to create a costume or appropriate visual prop that ties to the book they are reading. They will wear the costume or display the prop during the Reading Festival. Please note: All costume and prop proposals must be submitted in writing and approved by Mrs. Dean by 10-8-15 Nothing scary is allowed. We are reading to pre-K, kindergarten, and 1st grade students who should not be frightened by your appearance. Do not use fake blood or weapons Decorated poster boards can be attached to yarn or string and worn as a simple costume. Only costumes and props associated with the book being read and pre-approved by Mrs. Dean are permitted at school that day. We are still in need of individually wrapped candy to put in goody bags for the students in the lower grades who are attending this event.
