Job Description: Provides professional expertise in hydrology and water resource management to mitigate issues related to water measurement, supply, demand, transmission and distribution operation, water accounting and contractual agreements. Provide research, technology transfer, analytical review and customer support in technically specific areas to enable SRP to realize its goals and objectives for water and related services 1. Develops, documents and maintains the accuracy/integrity of the water flow equations and associated measurement sites used by water transmission, distribution and accounting. 2. Prepares and/or conducts written and oral reports and presentation. 3. Provide internal and external consulting services that enable SRP and its customer to realize goals and objectives for water and related services. 4. Perform research and technology assessments in an area of hydrology; this often requires significant knowledge in related fields. 5. Provide analytical support to technical staff, supervision and management. 6. Oversee the operations of the hydraulics laboratory and associated calibration facility to assure system accuracy and customer satisfaction. 7. Facilitate flow measurements to verify flow equation and precise water measurement instrumentation at contract sites, large city accounts, rivers and distribution sites. 8. Market SRP consulting, flow measurement and instrumentation services to internal and external customers. 9. Performs as project leader/hydrographic analysis on project of major scope and importance. 10. Acts as project leader regarding job quotes, designs and schedules construction for hydrologic monitoring facilities, for both internal and external customers. 11. Consults with key water accounts/customers to resolve disputes and enhance customer service and loyalty. 12. Provides hydrographic expertise in the development of contracts/agreements between SRP and external agencies and/or customers. Job Requirements: Bachelor's of Science degree with emphasis in Hydrology, Geology, Earth Science, Civil, Mechanical or Geological Engineering. Over 5 years experience as a Hydrology Field Specialist, Hydrologist or Engineer performing work involving water delivery control and measurement facilities preferred.
