The joint Kansas City/Wichita APT Committees held their annual retreat in Kansas
City on July 23rd, 2015. New Committee members were introduced and all
Committee members were instructed on the review process, changes in various
tracks. Several examples of review were performed and discussed by the
Committee.

The Office of Faculty Affairs and Development (FAD) has been extremely busy
preparing for the reviews this fall. To date, 91 faculty registered, and 67 applicant
finalizing their submission. Of these 67 final applications for consideration, 50 are
from Kansas City and 12 are from Wichita. Nearly 450 letters of
recommendations have been requested by the FAD staff. Thus, the FAD office
should be congratulated on all their hard work to prepare for the reviews this fall.

The Kansas City APT Committee is currently meeting weekly to complete review
for the 2015-2016 applications. The first meeting was held on Sept. 22nd, 2015.
A Vice Chair was elected on the first meeting. Dr. Ann Davis (Pediatrics) was
nominated and unanimously elected to serve as Vice Chair for the 2015-2016
year. Dr. Davis will serve as Chair of the Kansas City APT committee next year.
Once the reviews are complete, the joint committee of the Wichita and Kansas
City campuses will convene to finalize recommendations. This meeting will likely
occur in January 2016.
