Judge Wayne Purdom signed the arrest warrant for 25-year-old Quentin Martavious Wright of Decatur on Wednesday, charging that Wright sent pornographic photographs to a student. Wright was first arrested in May after investigators found he allowed students to have sex in a classroom closet at Champion Theme Middle School in Stone Mountain. “We knew our investigators needed to look further at this case because of the type of behavior demonstrated by this teacher,” said Solicitor-General Sherry Boston, “Had we not carefully gone through all the text messages in the teacher’s cell phone, this crime could have easily been overlooked. Clearly, it’s important that we identify and prosecute anyone who preys on our children.” On April 9, 2015, Wright sent a series of messages to a student under the age of 16 using the Kik chat app, encouraging the victim to masturbate. The messages contained photographs of the defendant’s computer screen where he was watching pornography, followed by a photograph of Wright’s hand with apparent semen on it, saying “OK, I’m done.” Under Georgia law, child molestation can be the use of an electronic device to transmit images of a person engaging in, inducing or otherwise participating in any act to arouse or satisfy the sexual desires of either the child or the defendant, even if no physical act took place between the accused and the victim. Judge Purdom set bond at $5000 along with conditions that he would stay away from the victim, anyone under the age of 18 and DeKalb County Schools. Investigators at the Solicitor-General’s Office uncovered the child molestation case by a thorough investigation which included interviewing students, piecing together cell phone messages and inspecting the school. Wright was already out on bond for four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor for allowing students to have sex in a classroom closet at Champion Theme Middle School between November 14, 2014 and May 14, 2015. These counts involved different students than the victim in the child molestation case. ### Follow us online at: DeKalbSolicitorGeneral.org, Facebook.com/SherryBostonDeKalbCountySolicitorGeneral, Linkedin.com/in/sherrybostonsg and Twitter.com/SherryBostonSG.
