THE DINING ROOM PLAN
The design objective for the dining room is a space the feel stylized and pulled together with a distinct style personality.









New dining tables and chairs are recommended that will allow the space to function easily for parties of 4 or more. A
rectangular dining table will allow for ease of movement throughout the space while providing ample seating.
Recommended tables are available with extension leaves which would allow the table to accommodate even greater
seating. You will note that two chairs are positioned next to the wood cabinet to accent that wall, but can be pulled to the
table when needed.
The recommended dining chairs are fully upholstered with exposed wood legs. Fabric chairs are needed to add softness
and a sense of comfort and relaxation to the space.
The existing rug remains.
The existing glass fron buffet will be remain in its current location but will enhanced by styling the enclosed dinnerware
pieces and adding a collection of ginger jars or urns to the top. The addition of accessories wil draw the eye up while
adding color and depth to the dining space.
The existing wood cabinet is placed into the design plan however I am recommending we consider having it painted in a
blue or ochre color. The addition of a painted piece of furniture will help to break up the mass of wood furniture pieces
with the space, adding softness and visual impact.
A mirror is recommened above the wood cabinet to fill the wall space and add dimension to the room.
Artwork is recommended flanking the wall mirror and would be selected after all the larger furniture elements are in place.
Buffet lamps are recommended for the top of the cabinet to add ambient lighting with the space. These lamps can be
utilized when the overhead chandelier is not needed/desired.
A new chandlier is recommended adding a more modern and sleek style to the dining room.
It is also recommended that the upper wall color be painted in a new color: Benjamin Moore # 830 Old Blue Jeans or Bejamin

THE FOYER PLAN
The design objective for the foyer it to add visual interest upon entering the home, creating a more welcoming feel.


The existing chandelier will be replaced with a more sleek and modern silhouette.
A large piece of statement art will be hung at the top of the stair landing drawing you in the home!

THE LIVING ROOM PLAN
The design objective of the living room is to creating a styled and pulled together décor that is comfortable and visually impactful
The room will feel complete and have a distinct design point of view. The existing rug is the jumping off point for this space and
colors will be pulled from within the rug pattern to accent the room.















A new sofa will be added to provide ample seating for 2 or 3 people.
New side chairs will be added to provide additional seating with the LR while at the same time completing the furniture
arrangement within the space.
Accent pillows will be brought in to add color and substance the the sofa and chairs.
A new hard surface coffee table is recommended giving you lots of working tabletop surface. The lower shelf can house
baskets that can hold blankets, magazines or other materials used regularly.
To provide even more additional seating/side table options, it is recommended that two small upholstered ottomans be
placed in front of the fireplace. The ottomans can be moved and utilized throughout the room as needed. Additionall, the
exposed legs of the ottmans will add a sense of airiness to the room.
Two styles of side tables are recommened for the LR. A set of wood nesting tables will be positioned at the far end of the
sofa. When needed, the smaller tables can be pulled out and scattered around the room next to the chairs/ottomans. A
ceramic garden seat, in a bold color will be placed next the chair nearest the fireplace. Again, this piece will serve as an
additional table surface and seating if needed. (note: Ceramic Garden seat an be utilized outdoors as well).
The marble top drawer unit currently in the dining room will be moved to the near end of the sofa and will serve as the
tabletop piece on that side of the sofa. This is the ideal place to drop your keys and purse when you enter the home.
Tabletop lamps will be added to the marble top cabinet and nesting tables to provide ambient lighting within the room.
Three pieces of wall art are recommended above the sofa to fill that wall space. Artwork will be chosen once all the larger
furniture pieces are in place.
A new ceiling fan with a more sleek and modern style is recommended.
It is recommended that the back inside wall of the bookcases be painted on shade darker than the existing wall color to
add depth and visual interest to this space. Note: only the back wall is to be painted, not the inside side panels.
Decorative accessories and books will be arranged and displayed on the bookshelves to add a personality and warmth to
the room. A inspirational drawing and style direction for the accessories is following.
No change to the existing wall color is recommended.
The existiing rug remains.
