Admission is free for Museum Members and $5 for all others. In addition to light refreshments, a cash bar is available. Seats are limited, so it’s first-come, first-served with no reservations. The Studio is located at 745 Duke Street, Norfolk. Third Wednesday at the Glass Studio features inspired glass demonstrations combined with live music or other performance art in a one-of-a-kind themed program every month. July 17, 7–10 p.m. The Great Turtle Migration Life’s a beach as artist and Glass Studio regular Grant Garmezy leads a glass demonstration called The Great Turtle Migration. Richmond’s popular Antero reggae band will bring a little chill to the hot atmosphere. August 21, 7–10 p.m. Litterers and Lifters Litterers and Lifters showcases visiting guest instructor Matt Eskuche comments on consumerism and ecology through his trash art. The Pawn Shop Lifters provide musical misdemeanors with their touch of Southern outlaw country rock. September 18, 7–10 p.m. More than Meets the Eye The Studio Team collaborates with guest musician Kishi Bashi to create optical devices of wonder in More than Meets the Eye. Glass records are spun and projected, while Kishi Bashi’s ethereal sounds float through the Studio to create an immersive evening of surprise and spectacle. The Chrysler Museum Glass Studio is located directly across the street from the Chrysler Museum. The Chrysler Museum of Art is one of America’s most distinguished mid-sized art museums with a world-class collection of more than 30,000 objects, including one of the great glass collections in America, The Glass Studio, which opened in November 2011, brings the collection to life through innovative performance and educational programs.
