If you are art, history, sports, shopping or romance lover, the Argentinean city hosts pleasures for all the ones who would like to meet Latin America in a different and intense way. For art lovers Colon Theater (Teatro Cólon) is known as the Music Temple and offers the visitors free concerts almost every month. It also has one of the most perfect acoustics of the world. Its architecture calls visitors attention once the building dates from the early of 20th century. For the ones who like dancing, the Argentinean tango can be found in many places in the city and in lots of manners. You can search for tango at Carlos Gardel Corner or Senor Tango, famous restaurants which offers a good experience. Restaurants at touristic attractions can offer dance shows while the client enjoys the great Argentinean culinary. At touristic places is also possible to find couples dancing right there, in the middle of the street. Besides all these artisitc contente, Buenos Aires provides another kind of art at Buenos Aires Latin-American Art Museum, MALBA in Spanish, which seeks conservation and spread of art in expositions representing Latin-America. Futhermore, the Nacional Museum of Arts, the MNBA, has the greater artistic heritage of the country and one of the majors in the continent. For sport lovers Boca Juniors and River Plate, two of the biggest and most famous soccer teams in Latin America are based in Buenos Aires. In spite of sharing the city, they are far away form each other, obviously because of the rivalry. Both the stadiums are opened to touristic visit. Placed at La Boca neighborhood, Club Atletico Boca Juniors is opened all days from 10 a.m to 6 p.m, but at match days the schedule changes. It is possible to make a tour at the stadium and visit Boca Juniors’ museum for a best understanding of the club’s history through photos, trophies, shirts and old stuffs. The prices for the visiting varies from 90 and 110 pesos according to the kind of visit you want to do. The seat of Club Atletico River Plate is at Nuñez neighborhood. As its rival, the club’s museum is part of its stadium, known as Monumental. For history lovers Buenos Aires is the politic, economic and cultural pole of Argentina. The governmental site is known as Pink House (Casa Rosada). It seats Argentinean Republic Presidency which is located at May Square (Plaza de Mayo). The square hosts other historical buildings as the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Cabildo, the city government office and the central house of Nación Bank (Banco Nación). Nonetheless, the Argentinean capital carries in its history years of a dictatorial government between 1976 and 1983. For the ones who would like to live an emotional experience in Argentina, all Thursdays at 3 p.m., a group called May Square Mothers (Madres de la Plaza de Mayo), gather in front of the Pink House to require news about its kids, disappeared during the military period. During the dictatorship, some parents considered subversives for the government, had its children taken away and put up for adoption. Until nowadays, the families try to find out what happened and where are their kids. For shopping lovers Buenos Aires make no mistakes in shopping issues. The city is able to host differtent kinds of shoppers, varying stile and pleasure. San Telmo: its a fair that occurs only on Sundays, all day long. For the ones who are able to join this experience, it is awesome! Famous for being an antiques fair, it is a touristic place where you can find a bunch of different things! Polaroids, pictures, shirts, artisans, artists, leather and several products. The street is closed for the fair takes place which starts at Dorrego’s Square (Plaza Dorrego), and ends over the long Defensa Street (Calle Defensa). The shopping times worth not only for the shopping at all, but also for the time and experience there. Plaza Serrano: placed at Palermo Soho, it is the most known fashon center in Buenos Aires. Calle Florida: the main shopping street of downtown hosts brand stores of a variety of products. For romance lovers Buenos Aires inspires romance. For the ones who like romantic tours, Paseo del Rosedal is a beautiful place. The rose garden has different kinds of this flower and it is a pleasant and cozy place, full of green areas in the middle of the metropolis. Another great place for a ride is Parque del Centenario, for romantic or familiar tours. It is a set of squares a little bit far from downtown, but also great to visit at Cabalitto neighborhood. The park is opened all days from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. For city lovers La Boca The typical neighborhood of La Boca is set at the margins of Riachuelo and it is visited for a lot of tourists during the year, but it is also one of the poorest districts of Buenos Aires. Besides the soccer team stadium (Boca Juniors), La Boca also hosts Caminito, the famous street where artists and painters sell their works. Caminito is considered an open sky and no doors museum. The tour costs about 2 pesos and the ship is opened every day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Palermo The upscale neighborhood of Palermo is divided between Palermo Soho and Palermo Hollywood. In the Recoleta Cemetery the urns with the human remains are not really buried, but raised in graves as houses, and you can see them when you get close to each grave. Some tips - talk to the townspeople: sometimes tourist places can be tiring or do not fill your desire to know the city as well as possible. The best of knowing Buenos Aires is to trace a subway route and walk to the desired location. Then you will know different places and find stories that go beyond the scripts and touristic schedules. - Buenos Aires subway is one of the oldest in the world and the first in Latin America. Known as Subte, the subway has in its galleries art and history. It's easy to find exhibitions and old stations that will tell the story of the city. At Peru Station you can find Mafalda strips, a character immortalized by the work of Quino. It is a beautiful tribute to the designer at the station near to Plaza de Mayo, in the heart of the city.
