SUMMARY TABLE FOR EUROPEAN RED LIST PROJECT – BALTIC ASSESSMENTS The European Red List project is working with the EUNIS habitat typology (mostly level 4 for marine habitats). To build on work already done in the Baltic, we have been looking at ways of cross-referencing this to the existing HELCOM HUB classification. At the same time work has started on revising the marine typology of EUNIS. This has been a complicating factor but also an opportunity to link the Baltic work to an EU level project. There are several key things to remember; The HELCOM HUB classification and assessments will not change as a result of this project The marine EUNIS consultation and revisions will not be completed within the timescale of our project. A full scale revision of EUNIS is not one of the project tasks but we need to make sure the typology we use for the project makes sense at both a Baltic and European level. There is an ongoing consultation on the revision of marine EUNIS, and HELCOM members are being consulted separately on this The following table shows the working list of Baltic marine habitats for the Red List project. It shows those which need final sign off based on previous work, and those which require further discussion/clarification either on typology (shaded boxes) or assessment.
