Responsible/ Due date Two parents signed up to be the parent rep for the KIS board. Peter Due, current parent rep signed up for two more years, and Rigmor Baraas. They introduced them self, and PTA had a vote. Peter won with 5 against 4 votes. Rigmor acts as deputy. 2 Per Olve Safety at drop off point in front of the school. Laila Christiansen has been working on safety issues, and especially in Laila Christiansen regards with the parking / drop off point. Robert Clarence PK has been contacted, and an application to Buskerud Fylkeskomune, for signs, pavement etc, has been submitted. Answers are expected within week 48/49. Information about how to behave with the current situation needs to be made easily accessible to parents and taxis dropping children off needs to be distributed. It should be published on the web pages, and maybe on a sign at the drop off point. This will also be a topic at strategic planning day. Peter, Per Olve and the board will be present. There will be established 2 committees. A property committee and a facility committee, both aiming at bringing the school up to meet international standards. -Also with regards to safety. Robert will assign Andrew Gregory to follow up on the information to be published on the web. PTA, KIS board, and the principal were encouraged to work towards the founding companies, asking for funds to cover safety measures. A PTA Nov. 27th 2012 Page 3 suggestion came up to suggest they sponsor an equal amount of funds as taken from the PTA account. 3 4 Applications for funds from Sparebankstiftelsen and trafikksikringsfondet Agneta, Cynthia and Bent Erik have submitted applications, but so far, no news. Agneta and co will continue the search for more opportunities. Agneta (not present) Leirskole (camp school?) Peter Due will continue pursuing the local authorities to stop discriminating against KIS when it comes to the funding of “Leirskole” Peter Due Parents, teachers and students are encouraged to express their dissatisfaction with this unfair practice in the local newspaper and through other chanels. 5 6 What is done when new students leave or come during the School year? What roles do the PTA and the school have? Per Olve will create a calendar with information about PTA for future PTA heads 8 Statutes The School Statutes should be revised. This will be a separate run, but when done, the statues need to be published online, and visible to all. Info Per Olve Robert Clarence School Banner Hege Myhre is appointed to work on the banner. To be ready by May 1st. 9 Per Olve 5 year MYP program to be established -Robert informs that he is working towards establishing a 5 year MYP program to be established. Hopefully by next year. 7 Info Winter Market day The Area between the school buildings will be set up with tents, and there will be a sale of local and foreign food. The happening will take place Friday the 14th of Dec from 2:30 to 16:30. Primarily for Preschool to grade 6, but all are welcome to join. PTA Nov. 27th 2012 Page 4 Hege Myhre Info. 10 11 New board member Ørjan Stengelsrud is the new representative from KOG, Kåre Sande (KA) steps in as the chairman of the board, and Karianne Gundersen represents FMC. Info Norwegian teacher PTA wants to know when we will get one, and how will we catch up? Robert Clarence Robert informs that they started staffing reviews 6 weeks ago. 35 applications have so far been received, and the recruitment process has started. We will however not be able to get a permanent one in place until school starts again in August. August 2013 The other teachers rotate to cover the uncovered position. 12 School trip outstanding invoice Some classes refuse to pay for a meal consumed at a trip at last school year. The non-paid invoice creates a problem for this year’s class representative. Robert Clarence Per Olve Robert will follow up with the class rep, and Per Olve offers to assist if needed. 13 Homework with short notice, over weekends. info Response given from Hege Myre in a separate memo. In short, no homework should be given, with short notice over the weekend. I.E handed out on a Friday, return on a Monday 14 School trips There were discussions related to parents not being able to cover the money needed for school trips, and one parent rep informed that a teacher had increased the amount to the parents, so it would cover for those who did not pay. The PTA did not approve this, and Per Olve informs that PTA funds can be used to help cover school trips for students and their families, if they do not have to funds to attend.
