Graduate Initial Letter regarding fees

GRADUATION – JUNE 24TH, 2014
Dear Grade 8 Graduates and Families
You are about to embark on a new chapter in your lives, and to help celebrate your accomplishments at the
elementary school level. We would like to invite each graduate and their parents or guardians or stepparents to
the Grade 8 celebratory dinner and dance to be held on the evening of Tuesday, June 24th, 2014 at the All
Saints Parish Centre. We are unable to extend this invitation to siblings, aunts, uncles or grandparents, but all
are welcome to join the graduating class at All Saints Parish prior to the dinner. The cost of the dinner is $15
per person, including Graduates.
Each student is asked to send in a labelled baby photo, BEFORE FRIDAY, JUNE 6th, which will be used as part
of a slide show, following the dinner. Mrs. Brigette Boere will be putting together the slide show.
Parents are required to stay and chaperone the dance, as the formal OLI portion of the evening will be completed
and OLI staff and administration will not be present for the dance. This is due to the London DCSB policy and
procedures on Graduation ceremonies.
It is tradition that the Grade 8 parents decorate the Parish hall the morning of Graduation. Please contact Sandra
Strybosch at (519) 245-3060 if you are interested in helping to decorate the Hall.
Students will be wearing black gowns (similar to the gowns worn at Confirmation). Girls will wear a gold vshaped collar, boys will wear a green v-shaped collar (OLI school colours are gold and green). Students have
been fitted for the gowns and they will receive the gown/collar upon arrival at the Parish Hall prior to the
Graduation Mass. Gowns and collars are to be returned after the Grad Mass/Ceremony – prior to the
dinner/dance. The cost of the gown and collar rental is $15.00.
The students are required to be at the Parish Hall NO LATER THAN 5:30 p.m. in order to have the Group Photo
taken by Luis Photography. The cost of the group photo is $10.00. Please indicate on the form below (and return
with the money) if you wish to purchase the Group Photo (it will NOT be included in the Yearbook). If there are
not enough students wanting to purchase the photo, we will not be taking it this year.
