EEO Classification: Operatives Grade: Management Physical Location: Issaquah Operations Center Status: Salaried, Exempt Reports to: Chief Operations Officer Approved by: CEO & COO Effective Date: 10/01/12 SUMMARY: The Senior Lead Crew Supervisor for recycling oversees daily operation of AtWork!’s recycling business and leads vocational training and services for workers with disabilities in this division. Much of the Senior Lead’s time is spent working directly in the recycling yard with crew members to assist in training, coaching and supporting professional growth for staff and person’s served by AtWork!. In addition, the Senior Lead Crew Supervisor for recycling is responsible for supervising employees in this division, establishing and maintaining vendor contacts, and completing and submitting daily paperwork. The Senior Lead Crew Supervisor plays an important role in quality control and maintaining a successful and efficient workforce. SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Note: More detailed description of duties and expectations is available in the Employee Performance Expectations document that is delivered to all employees upon hire. Manage and coordinate day-to-day operations for AtWork!’s Recycling division. Provide supervision, support and training to all crew members on a daily basis. Coordinate schedules and activities for crew supervisors and crew members. Be the primary point of contact for external customers and venders that purchase services. Work as a member of the team to perform recycling yard duties such as, bailing cardboard, sorting recyclable materials, shredding, and sweeping the recycling yard. Greet customers and assist with unloading recycling items. Coordinate workflow of self and crew members to ensure completion of contract requirements and deadlines. Assign crew members to specific tasks such as sorting, bailing, shredding, sweeping, etc. Operate forklifts, bailing machines, shredding and other equipment safely. Responsible for security, safety and maintenance of all equipment and supplies for the job site and reporting malfunctions or discrepancies. Provide demonstrations and training for crew members on assigned tasks and ensure understanding of all job duties. Demonstrate proper use of equipment, materials and supplies. Motivate crew members to achieve work goals by suggesting plans or strategies, changes in work environment, and creative training techniques. Inspect quality of work and ensure that it meets contract specifications. Monitor work performance of crew members to ensure compliance with standard procedures and safety requirements. Provide personal attendant care for clients as needed. Record crew member time records, case notes, and other paperwork as assigned by the COO. Intervene and dissipate adverse behaviors through positive support methods in accordance with State and agency policies. Complete time studies of crew members to assess productivity levels. Coordinate services with parents, care providers and guardians in cooperation with other staff members. Implement program plans for individual crew members as specified in service plans. SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITIES Directly responsible for managing 2-3 staff members in the recycling division and 4-12 clients depending upon the amount of work; responsible for interviewing, hiring and training new employees. Plan, assign and direct all work for crew members. Provide on-going feedback, coaching, rewards, and discipline employees as needed. Conduct performance reviews, track progress of individual employee goals and support professional development plans. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or GED required, post secondary education preferred. One or two years related experience preferred. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to give clear and concise verbal instructions. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. REASONING ABILITY Ability to problem solve. Ability to take initiative and make decisions based upon company purpose, mission, and values and in the best interest of clients and customers. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid Washington State Driver’s License. Ability to pass background investigation. Current First Aid and CPR certification. Must be 25 years of age to operate company vehicles.
