Objective Year Course Description 1st GERMAN GRAMMAR I、II This capstone course offers basic German language training to help students reach proficiency level A2 in the CECRL system and gain a cultural and social education on germanophone countries. GERMAN READING I、II This capstone course offers basic German language training to help students reach proficiency level A2 in the CECRL system and gain a cultural and social education on germanophone countries. GERMAN CONVERSATION I、II This conversation course offers specific training in listening and speaking, including topics related to German popular terms and sayings as well as the sentence structure. The course helps students to reach proficiency level A2 in the CECRL system. GERMAN READING III、IV This capstone course helps students to comprehend germanophone cultures and reach proficiency level B1 in the CECRL system by training their reading, writing, and translation skills. The course also introduce German grammar including sentence structure and vocabulary definition. GERMAN CONVERSATION III、IV 2nd This course offers specific training in listening and speaking to help students reach proficiency level B1 in the CECRL system The goal of this course is to strengthen students’ reading skill by studying various articles. Additionally, through discussions on different German culture and society related topics and the GERMAN READING AND COMPOSITION I、II analysis of grammar structure. With the help of course materials, student’s reading and writing skills will be able to reach the language proficiency level of B1(of the CECRL standards) . 3rd GERMAN TRANSLATION Through translation exercises of sentences and articles with different difficulty levels, students will be able to enhance their analysis and integration language skills by discussing the difference in culture, philosophy, translating methods, and language between Taiwan and Germany. Furthermore, students will be able to comprehend original German text better without not neglecting Chinese meaning. This capstone course offers training in listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills to help students reach the language proficiency level of B2(of the ADVANCED GERMAN CONVERSATION I、II CECRL standards). Additionally, with the help of course materials, students will be able to expand their vocabulary and develop the best independent learning method for them. The goal of the course is to strengthen students’ reading skill by studying various articles and with different difficulty levels. Additionally, through GERMAN READING AND COMPOSITION III、 discussions on German culture and related social IV topics and the analysis of grammatical structure, student’s reading and writing skills will be able to reach the language proficiency level of B2(of the CECRL standards) . GERMAN INTERPRETATION - CHINESE COURSE FOR BEGINNERS “GERMAN INTERPRETATION” is a course that focuses on the introduction to a field other than listening, reading, speaking, writing, and translating. Therefore, apart from basic interpretation skills, students need to understand the basic structure of this course as well. To enhance students’ competitiveness and practice their listening, speaking, reading, writing, and translating skills, this course has using following 4th TRANSLATION AT ADVANCED LEVEL I、II objctives: 1. Strengthen basic language ability by using different types of German translation texts. 2. Cultivate the ability to recognize the connection between German and Chinese language by studying different styles of German literature.(on sentence, vocabulary and paragraph structure) 3. Sharpen German and Chinese cognitive language learning skills. (The above are the continuations of academic objectives of translation course for junior students.) 4. Strengthen and improve translation skill whether it be on correctness, accuracy or speed with selected advance translation exercises. GERMAN CEFR B2 I、II This capstone course trains students to reach proficiency level B2 in the CECRL system. With the help of course materials, students will be able to better understand the cultural and social issues of German society.
