Building Resilience in Our Soils and Landscapes through Improved Soil Management: Mid North Coast Incentive Grant This Incentive Grant aims to support an increase the area of land managed with sustainable practices to increase productivity and improve the quality of ecosystem services. People and properties within the Hastings, Macleay and Nambucca are invited to apply for grants of $500 to $2,000 (plus GST) to help improve land management. Your contribution (including in-kind contribution) is expected to match the amount of funds requested. You need to develop a project that will be able to be achieved by 31 May 2015. Applications to the Incentive Grant close 13 April 2015 and you will be notified by 20 April 2015 by phone or email if your application has been successful. This is a competitive process and your application will be assessed against funding criteria and ranked in order of project merit by an independent panel. Please contact your local Landcare network if you need further information or would like help developing an application. Funding priorities include the establishment of demonstration sites for soil building and changed soil management practices, eg. rotational grazing, the use of soil amendments. All projects will undertake a Northern Rivers Soil Health Card health check in liaison with your local Landcare network at commencement and after 12 months or as relevant to the project. Demonstration sites require one soil test at commencement and a second test at a time to be negotiated with Hastings Landcare. Criteria for these soil tests are to be determined in liaison with Hastings Landcare.
