Director of Coaching
Camberwell Dragons Basketball Association is seeking applications for the position of Head Coach for
the upcoming season 2015/16. Camberwell is looking for a Head Coach to work with current coaches
and players, but also add strength and knowledge to the Association.
Objectives:

Oversee all Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL) related coaching matters across
Camberwell Basketball Association
To have an overview of the all Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL) related matters
across the Association
Provide leadership and support to Junior Coordinators and VJBL Coaches
Work with the Association Committee to ensure effective and efficient operations of the
VJBL teams
Responsibilities:
1. Promote Camberwell Dragons in a positive and professional manner
2. Develop and implement a coaching framework across the Junior program including
relevant standards for each age group
3. Attract, select and appoint all VJBL Coaches in consultation with Committee
4. Promote coaching clinics and attainment of coaching qualifications
5. Attend and observe training sessions and VJBL games
6. Meet with coaches to further develop their skills and ensure standards of The Association
are developed and maintained.
7. Liaise and work with Junior Coordinators on a regular basis
8. Actively promote and encourage player participation in Basketball Victoria development
programs
9. Develop a player development measuring systems/standards which that are consistent
between age groups and genders
10. Develop and implement the elite player program and the development player program
11. Identify and create pathways that lead to elite basketball programs (NITP, Vic Teams, SPP,
SSV, school basketball programs etc.)
12. Develop and implement holiday programs and development squad program
Relationships:

Reports to the Committee
Liaise with Junior Coordinators
Liaise with Coaches
Accountability:

The Director of Coaching is accountable to the Committee
Provide a monthly report on all aspects of the portfolio to the Committee
Seek written approval from the Committee prior to committing the Association to any
financial or non-financial commitments

The Association holds ownership rights over the intellectual property of any coaching
programs developed and implemented by the Director of Coaching for the Association.
