MSc Sport and Exercise Science The MSc in Sport and Exercise Science is a multi-disciplinary programme. This means it involves study from across a range of sub-disciplines within Sport & Exercise Science. In practice it involves study from 3 (out of choice of 5) subdisciplines. The sub-disciplines are: Physiology Psychology Biomechanics Pedagogy (Teaching & Coaching) Sociology It is important that prospective students have sufficient background for MSc level study in 3 sub-disciplines. Therefore we ask prospective students to indicate the subdisciplines that they envisage studying, and explain the rationale for this choice i.e. relevant previous study and experience by completing the table overleaf. (As a rule of thumb we typically suggest that students have studied at least 2 undergraduate modules/units in a selected sub-discipline*). Prospective applicants may find it useful to review the modules available within each sub-discipline, which is available at: http://www.lboro.ac.uk/departments/ssehs/postgraduate-taught/programmes/sportexercise-science.html although this list can change from year to year. Students offered a place on the programme will be asked to select their specific modules shortly before the start of the programme.
