About the Department

Usha Rama College of Engineering and
Technology, established
by
Usha
Rama
Educational Academy, with the aim of
inculcating quality education to stud ents and
pr od uce yo ung techno crats having good
knowledge. The college is approved by AICTE
and affiliated to JNTU-Kakinada. It is sponsored
by Chicago based Advansoft group.
Advansoft Group made an extensive
study of the functioning of premier educatio nal
institutions in India and abroad and had an
extensive
consultation
with
industry,
academicians and scholars, the efforts of which
finally culminated in laying the foundation for
the college in 2008. Even before the college
commenced its functioning, an elaborate plan
was d r a wn u p f o r a c c l i m a t i z i n g a n d
a b s o r b i n g t h e students predominantly hailing
from a rural background, into an environment
demanding learning of frontier technologies .
The department is actively engaged in R&D,
industrial
consultancy,
organizing
seminars,
workshops and conferences in related areas.

Location
The college is located on NH-5 in
Telaprolu village, 30 kms away from Vijayawada
towards Eluru and it is very near to Gannavaram
airport ie. just only 10 kms.very accessible from
Telaprolu railway station which is only 1.5 kms.
The college campus is surrounded by lush
greenery. It is well connected by college buses,
R.T.C and other means of transport. It provides
conducive environment to students to pursue
their education.
Work-study
An in no vati ve p ro gram at " UshaRa ma" ;
unp rec edented progress in scientific development
for any engineering student, practical skills are
inevitable besides bookish knowledge. Usha
Rama college of engineering and technology has
initiated an innovative program namely "Work
Study" program and proved to have succeeded in
achieving very good results. From the second year
onwards, the engineering students should
undertake this program experimentally at least two
sessions a week and identify the latest information
linked to the technology they le arn at college.
This program is executed by professionals in
technological
expertise
from
various
departments. This program function as a “ Earn
while you learn" scheme to support the students.
In fact this program is an additional task to the
practical laboratory classes usually conducted in
engineering education.
The Workshop is aimed to impart the following
