OKLAHOMA CITY Tour de Cure Frequently Asked Questions Q. Where do I park? A. There are several parking lots available at the Wild Horse Park in Mustang including parking on the far west side (behind the Community Center) near the softball fields. There will signs and / or volunteers directing you where to park. Q. What are the start times & check in? Can I change the route that I decide to ride from what I originally registered to ride? A. Yes, simply come to the registration area of the check in time for the route that you would like to ride. Or make the change at either of the early packet pick up dates. Q. Can I start early? A. We ask that you please follow the start times for the routes as planned and not ride early. If you start early, we cannot assure you that all of the rest stops and course support will be in place and ready to support you. Q. Is there a check in or registration time prior to the morning of the ride? A. Yes, we will have an early turn- in / registration / packet pick up during the week of Tour. Dates and times TBD. Just a reminder that every rider must turn in the $200 minimum at early turn-in or / packet pick up OR at registration on the morning of the event if they have not already reached the amount. This is when you will receive your bib number and goodie bag Each rider must also turn in an emergency form / waiver Q. Do I have to check in the morning of the ride if I’m already registered and have raised the minimum? A. If you have previously raised the minimum, turned in your minimum at early turn-in and have no additional funds to turn in at the event; and, if you have turned in your signed waiver; and have received your official bib, you are set to ride and don’t need to check in. Q. When does registration close? A. Online registration closes on Wednesday night. If you have friends still planning to ride, please have them register by Wednesday night. Thursday through Saturday they will need to register in person at either one of the early turn in times or the morning of the ride. Q. How do I make a donation online? A. Please visit or send friends to www.diabetes.org/tourokc , click “find a tour”, then click on OKLAHOMA CITY and click on DONATE >DONATE TO RIDER / Enter rider name. Or login into Tour Center at the upper right corner of the Oklahoma City Tour page www.diabetes.org/tourokc Q. What if I’m still waiting on donations after TOUR? A. Donations can be made to you online for 30 days after the event. Keep trying to reach your goal or incentive gift levels for a month! Q. How much is it to ride in TOUR? A. The online registration fee is $25. ALL riders must raise or donate the $200 minimum, in addition to the registration fee to ride in TOUR. Q. What if I’m a Red Rider? A. Red Riders are our VIP’s! Check in at registration then you will be directed to “Red Rendezvous” our Red Rider Tent where you can find additional perks and receive your Red Rider jersey and gift bag! Q. Do I have access to a mechanic during the ride? A. All SAG vehicles will have supplies courtesy of local bike shops. There will be a mechanic at the start / finish area. Q. How far apart are the rest stops? A. The ADA has rest stops every 10-15 miles on each route Q. Where do I get my t-shirt? A. You will receive your goodie bag and t-shirt at any of the early or day of event registration / check-in times. Q. Do I have to wear a helmet? A. YES!! ALL riders MUST wear a helmet at all times they are on their bike Q. Do you allow bike trailers for young kids? A. The child in the trailer does not have to be registered or fundraise, however, we will need a completed waiver and assign them a bib number. He or she must also wear a helmet. Q. Will you have route maps or cue sheets for riders? A. Yes. Both will be available at early pick up and registration Q. Is there anything for friends and family to do at the finish if they want to cheer me in? A. Absolutely!!
