COMENIUS PROJECT : OUR STORY
Monday, May 12th 2014
Our Comenius Partners with their students( 36 students and 7 teachers) arrived at
our Boarding school at about 8.00 p.m. We were so happy to see each other again
and to give start to this new amazing experience !
We had a welcoming dinner together in the school canteen and then everybody
went to rest in the boarding school.( We arranged several rooms for boys and girls
and for teachers,of course!)
Partners students told our school looked like The Harry Potter School!Amazing!
So Goodnight everybody!
Tuesday,May 13th 2014
After breakfast in the school canteen, we had a Welcome meeting with all
Comenius partners and students! It was the occasion to exchange presents: Turkish
friends gave a beautiful wall-watch of Bìtlis and some mugs with Turkish delights;
Slovenian friends gave very tasted Slovenian food( cakes. Honey, sausages..) typical
hand made embroidered doilies and some beautiful coffee cups! Our Students
prepared an handmade frame with a pencil or a key ring with Pinocchio to give to
all the Comenius students and teachers!
After that we met altogether in the school gymnasium where an amazing show with
traditional folk songs and dances took place! The Italian students sang songs on the
theme of friendship and danced the famous Ciociaria folk dance: il Saltarello. Then
art gym and pop dances followed!
But also our Slovenian friends had a surprise for us ! They held typical Slovenian folk
dances, and… a Ballet in costume performed by one of the eldest student!
Amazing!
Our Head teacher Mrs. Patrizia Bottari welcomed our guests and suggested to make
this event the most enjoyable and teaching experience for everyone.
After the show the students had a meeting with their penfriends .This was the most
touching part of the day, because they could meet each other live for the first time!
So they exchanged presents and took photos and talked, talked…. and talked
The morning activities closed with a visit in our school classrooms where Turkish and
Slovenian students were involved in some lessons
1.00 p.m Lunch in the school canteen with all the Comenius team
14.30/17.00 Activities in the park or in the school park.
Students were divided into four mixed group and they held a competition in
different games in the park! We had a lot of fun in particular when teachers got
involved in the competitions! In the tug of war the Turkish teachers won!
And then PIZZA TIME : we all had a break with Pizza and tea!
Free time
After dinner in the school canteen,we met to have a visit tour of Anagni and an icecream then …it’s time for sleeping after a tiring day so full of powerful emotions!

7.45 Breakfast in the school canteen
8.00 School trip to Ninfa Botanic Garden
After breakfast our Comenius friends joined in the school trip to the botanic garden
of Ninfa with our students.
We went by bus and had a tour of this wonderful Garden! Everyone appreciated it!
We took pictures and then had a packed lunch in the park beside the garden!
Students had the opportunity to talk and play together
At about 4.00 p.m we visited the Fossanova Abbey in a typical medieval village
Then we came back to Anagni had a rest for the day…after!
19.00 Dinner in the school canteen
Thursday, May 15th 2014
7.45 Breakfast at school
8.30 Trip to Rome We left by bus and then took the Rome underground at Anagnina
station. We arrived at St.Peter in Vatican and from that we visited a lot of Sights
…on foot! Our Comenius friends visited St. Angelo Castle, Navona Square, The
Pantheon, The Trevi Fountain, Venezia Square with the unknown soldier monument
and The Colisseum! Our guide Mr. Peppino Scandorcia told a lot of funny stories
about these monuments but the Slovenian students also described each sight
perfectly!( they were well prepared)
We had lunch in a famous pizza restaurant in Pantheon and then students could
buy a lot of nice presents for their families! After a log walk back, we finally reached
our bus again and went …Home!
19.00 Final dinner in the school canteen with the Comenius team! Our team had
the pleasure to give Famous Italian model cars and caps to all the Comenius
students as a souvenir of their trip to Italy!
Then they organized a Pizza Party before going to sleep!
Friday, May 16th 2014
7.45 Breakfast and then it’s time to leave! It was a sad moment… no one wanted to
leave and our students were so unhappy to let their new friends go! Time went on
so quickly but…
It has been the most teaching and enjoyable experience for our school! It’s been a
pleasure to collaborate with such nice people and share opinions and learn from our
differences! The most exciting thing was to see how students are able to befriend in
such a little time ! They talked a lot in English but they also communicated in every
possible way!
Our Students thanked so much to have been given of that wonderful experience!
So thanks to everyone and see you in Turkey in October
