Students will learn standard guitar tuning, easy/basic chords, how to read tablature, easy strumming, and more! By the close of Guitar Camp, each student will have a working knowledge of the open and power chords used in popular music today. The camp will conclude with a group or individual performance opportunity, and is a great precursor to private instruction. Participants will learn fundamentals and techniques specific to their instrument, under the close instruction and observation of our professional performing and teaching staff. Participants will also get to explore the elements of music composition and theory, discover more about how their instrument functions, and perform with other like-minded musicians. This camp is perfect for students who are looking to become stronger players, interested in learning more about music and their instrument, or who would just like more in-depth musical instruction. Students enrolled in this camp will have the option of studying privately with one of our instructors at a camp-only, discounted rate. This camp is a great pre-cursor to private instruction. Through movement, games, crafts, and general exploration, participants will learn music basics including rhythm, notation, the instruments of the orchestra, and much more. Students will get to “meet” the standard band and orchestra instruments. They will hear and see examples of each instrument, and will even get to each instrument under the guidance and instruction of our staff. This camp gives students a great opportunity to not only explore music, but to think about and/or choose which instrument they would like to one day learn. This camp is the perfect precursor to middle school band! Ask our staff for pricing) Cost: $75.00 per course ($200 when you sign up for the entire 3 course series) This three part course is designed for the younger piano student, and will give your child a jumpstart to his or her musical interests. It is an ideal way to explore your child’s talent and interest in music, for a lower cost and time commitment. Each course is one week in duration. Students will meet for 45 minutes each day and learn the basics of music and piano technique in a fun and age appropriate way. Students will participate in games and group activities designed to teach and reinforce learned concepts. Beginning Piano A: playing posture, learning how the body and hands work, practice independent movement of the wrists and hands, differentiating musical concepts (high/low, loud/soft, etc.), steady beat, layout of the keyboard Beginning Piano B: Reading notated rhythms, line and space notes, treble and bass clef, notes on the keyboard Beginning Piano C: Following notated rhythms and assigned musical notes, learn more about the grand staff This camp is the perfect precursor to taking piano lessons.
