HUGH MAXWELL, was born April 8, 1701 in Minterburn, County Tyrone, Ireland, and died March 19, 1759 in Bedford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He married SARAH CORBETT, June 3, 1728 in Minterburn, daughter of William Corbett and Margaret Meagher. She was born 1691 in Cairnryan, Wigtownshire County, Scotland. They sailed from Ireland to Massachusetts, arriving in July 1733. There is mention of their journey to America and his children. Included are the first pages of the sketch and also a web site where the entire book can be read on line. Hugh and his family settled on a hired farm in Bedford, Middlesex, MA where four additional children were born. Sarah schooled the children from her Bible and other religious books. THOMPSON MAXWELL, MAJOR, was born September 11, 1742 Bedford, Middlesex, MA and died October 24, 1832, River Rouge, Wayne, Michigan. He married #1 SIBYL WYMAN 1764 in Milford Worcester County, MA, daughter of Thomas Wyman and Rachael Crosby. She was born August 29, 1735 in Billerica, Middlesex, MA and died 1802 in Madison, Butler County, Ohio. He married #2 MARY LEEDS LITLE, a widow, June 25, 1807 in Butler County, Ohio, daughter of Robert Leeds. She was born August 20, 1749 in Little Egg Harbor, Burlington, New Jersey and died February 1813 in Madison County, Ohio. He married #3 ELEANOR HEACOCK, a widow, September 27, 1823 in River Rouge, Wayne County, Michigan. She was born about 1755 in Michigan Territory. Note: Mary Leed Little, was the widow of Capt John Little of New Jersey. They had one son in NJ, John Leeds Little, born after 1768. He was a shoemaker and joined the military as a youth. After he married Sibyl Wyman they settled in Monson/Amherst, Hillsborough County, NH, engaging in farming and teaming. Major Thompson Maxwell was engaged in the following events: French Indian War, Boston tea Party, Revolutionary War, “America’s Final Triumphant Victory”, Sharp’s Rebellion, Member of MA Convention to frame a Constitution of Gov., Representative to Boston, four or five times, He moved the family to Buckland, MA, residing there for twenty years until 1800 then moving to Madison/Miami County, Ohio, where Sibyl died in 1802.
