The Tropical Rainforest All about the Navigator The Tropical Rainforest is the rainiest biome. It rains day and night, 24/7. My job is to find out where our biome is located. After research, I found out, the rainforest that we were in is the Luang Prabang Rainforest. The Luang Prabang Rainforest is located in the city of Luang Prabang, In Laos. The Luang Prabang’s weather is horrible. In most tropical rainforests, the daytime temperature ranges from 30 degrees Celsius to 35 degrees Celsius. In the night time the temperature ranges from 20 degrees Celsius to 25 degrees Celsius. Our carpenter had a hard time doing this job. We made a sunroof in our house so it would not get hot inside our house. There are lots of animals in the tropical rainforest. The animal that we chose to create was a jaguar. In the tropical rainforest, there are endangered animals. The endangered animals are golden lion tamarins, Bengal tiger, dawn bat and the Linn’s sloth. Other animals include: Pit viper, vampire bat, monkeys, cobras and the harpy eagle. Plants in the tropical rainforest include: Bamboo, Bougainville, Curare, Coconut tree, Durian, Jambu, Kapok tree, Mangrove tree, Strangler figs and Tualang. Tropical Rainforests are now nature’s treasures and many of them are at risk. We have already destroyed half of the tropical rainforests in the world. Did you know that enough rainforest are being destroyed every minute to fill fifty football fields? Tropical rainforests produce about 40% of the world’s oxygen.
