Terri completed the Obligation as a new member to the Banner Grange. Motions carries to accept Teresa (Terri) Fowler as a new member to the Banner Grange. August & September Minutes approval Diana motions to approve the August & September minutes. Kalita 2nd. Motion carries. President’s Report – Charly Price Preparation for Elections for new leadership in December for 2016 Officers – December 2015 meeting will be for Nominations and Elections only. The convention was the most highly attended and had the most delegates in the history of the Grange. Banner Grange is growing. We are supporting organic, non-GMO, local, sustainable food, farming and economy. Check out our Facebook page for a great article on the Grange Lawsuit. November 14th the Beauty Way Tour – Charly will send out an email; Drew will contact our new publicity person to get the word out. Food Handler’s Licenses – anyone working in the kitchen needs to obtain a Food Handler’s License which can be obtained online. Also, we will use renter’s cleaning deposits to hire a cleaning person so that Georganne does not have to clean uncompensated. The Executive Committee agreed to hire someone outside the grange to clean to avoid conflict of interest. However, discussion re: offering Georganne compensation for her cleaning work. Charly will talk with Georganne. have their food handlers’ license. 2nd Kalita. Motion passes unanimously. Charly will talk with Georganne re: compensation for cleaning the hall after events. Beginning next month, November, meetings will occur on the 2nd Saturdays at 9:30am during the winter season. Treasurer’s Report – Richard Gorman No report – Richard not present Secretary’s Report – Sabrina Speroni We’re up to 67 members. Annual Membership renewal for 2016 will be sent out soon. Consider a secretary team for the Secretary position for elections made up of 2-3 people – job duties include, a) managing the list serve & communications to the membership; b) taking business meeting minutes & Executive Committee meeting minutes; c) managing membership details including member lists, applications, fees, quarterly reports, and annual membership renewals. Grass Valley, CA 95949 AGENDA Committee Reports State Convention Summary – Theresa Youngman 137 delegates; Friday & Saturday 210 people Served 140 meals on china 4H and FFA came to serve meals Silent Auction we made $500; Pancake Breakfast broke even Empire Mine Tour; Haute Trash Fashion Show, Talent Show, Downtown Grass Valley Ladies Night shopping event. David Edwards was elected for Executive Committee Member and Theresa Youngman was elected Assistant Steward for the CSG Multiple other Nevada County Granges helped as well. Topics from the floor Drew – Community project - Nevada County Grown got a $25K grant to explore a Food hub – we found a location for it for a food hub, storefront, commercial kitchen – farmer owned cooperative storefront. Would love to see the grange support and volunteer to help make it happen. Drew is the new committee chair for the Food Hub support project. Monthly business meetings will change to the 3rd Saturday of the month during the winter season beginning with the November meeting on Saturday 11/21/15. The group agrees to have a breakfast potluck beginning at 9am before the 9:30am meeting start time. Charly moves that Banner Grange support the Food Hub project in volunteerism. Drew 2nd.
