2015 CALL FOR POSTERS The Arizona Psychological Association (AzPA) Student Affairs Committee, in conjunction with the Arizona Neuropsychological Society (AzNS), announces a call for poster proposals for the 2015 annual convention to be held on October 16 & 17, 2015 at Carefree Resort and Conference Center in Carefree, AZ. The poster presentation will be held the first day of the convention, Friday, October 16, 2015. Proposals for posters will be peer reviewed and considered for inclusion in the program if they are received by 5pm on September 11, 2015. Of all applicants chosen for inclusion in the program, the top two from each of four categories will give a 10-minute PowerPoint presentation highlighting important elements of their poster. All posters should be presented in APA format and will be displayed in the main conference area for the remainder of the conference. Monetary awards will be given for first place posters for each of the following categories: Graduate Level, Neuropsychology Graduate Level, and Undergraduate Level. Graduate and Undergraduate categories will be judged by a panel of AzPA members, while the Neuropsychology Graduate category will be judged by a panel of AzNS members. (Note: Proposals submitted to the Neuropsychology Graduate level must be related to the field of neuropsychology). Reasons to participate: 1. Cash award presented in each category for first place presenters ($100 graduate, $100 neuropsychology graduate, and $75 undergraduate submissions). 2. Research is judged by a panel of your peers and psychologists using an assigned rubric. 3. Talk with psychologists interested in your work. 4. Great for college, graduate school or employment applications – demonstrate your academic/research capabilities! 5. Meet student researchers from other universities. Rules for Participation: 1. Any undergraduate or graduate student may submit a proposal for a poster for consideration. It is not necessary to be a member of AzPA or AzNS. 2. Individuals are limited to one submission for consideration. 3. Submissions are welcomed from all areas of psychology. 4. Proposals may include original empirical studies, program development/evaluation, critical literature review, meta-analysis, etc. (NOTE: Critical literature review is not permitted for AzNS submissions.) 5. For the top two chosen in each category, the first author must present the PowerPoint presentation at the convention’s presentation session. You are welcome and encouraged to register and attend the rest of the convention events. Students who are selected to present a poster may be eligible for a student scholarship for the day of the presentation. Submit the Poster Proposal cover sheet (page 3). 2. Prepare and submit a 500 word abstract (page 4), 12-point font, double-spaced, detailing the work and the proposed poster in APA format. 3. Submit the consent to photograph form. 4. Complete a scholarship application which can be found at www.AzPA.org (optional, but recommended).
