Brief Description of Nature of Business
Patra Foam is the first Foam Factory in Sudan & the 3rd in Africa was
Established in 1972 .
In 2007 Patra Foam Co. Ltd was the first Sudanese Foam Company to be
awarded with ISO certification 2000-2001and it’s still the only Foam
manufacturer in Sudan to hold an ISO certificate.
Major products are foam conversion, and insulation spray, Pocket spring,
metal spring mattresses, Specialized in all kind of mattress.
Patra Foam products made for the furniture and upholstery industries and
home use.

showing how our business benefit from integrating and applying the
UNGC principles in our strategy and in our everyday business activities in
additional to a description of our future plans to apply these principles in
our long term strategies .

Human Rights:
Principle 1: Business should support and respect the protection of
internationally proclaimed human rights; and
Principle 2: make sure that they are not complicit in human rights
abuses.
Patra foam supports the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
To maintain a daily influence on our employees, customers, suppliers and
other stockholders we have made a board enclose the 10 principle of
UNGC at the entrance gate of our premises, also to increase the awareness
of the universal principles and Human rights we conducted a training day
for our employees.
Our policy promote a productive work place and its doesn’t not accept
any type of discrimination, all employees shall not be subjected to
harassment, intimidation, threats for any reason, This policy is adhered to
all employees’ regardless status and all employee must have fair treatment.
Patra encourages all employees to report immediately any complaints of
discrimination, harassment, intimidation or threats to their supervisor or to
the Vice President.
Measurement of Outcomes
Patra has been compliant with all regulations regarding employment
practices and has not been subject to any investigations involving Human
Rights.
*Labor Principles
Principle 3: Businesses should uphold the freedom of association
and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining;
Principle 4: the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory
labor;
Principle 5: the effective abolition of child labor; and
Principle 6: the elimination of discrimination in respect of
employment and occupation.
Patra foam supports the labor principles and upholds the elimination of all
Forms of forced or compulsory labor as well as the freedom of association
and the right to choose a collective bargaining representative if desired.
Patra has developed an employee handbook outlined employee rights and
compensation and responsibilities.
Patra adopts Equality Employment Policy all recruitment decisions stand
exclusively on the suitability of the candidate for the position and not on
gender, religion, race, or any form of discrimination. Our recruitment
policy restricts forced or child labor.
Patra have restricted policies and procedures for entering production area
without safety equipment and wears we have placed caution signs in all our
production area to inform employees to wear safety eyewear, masks, gloves
& boots.
Our goal is to have a safe and satisfactory work environment by
continuously improving our safety policy and employee training by
provides regular safety training in all required areas and job functions.
Measurement of Outcomes
This safety policy & cautions sign reduced injuries and employees
absenteeism in our work which positively effected our production.
*Environmental Principles
Principle 7: Business should support a precautionary approach to
environmental challenges;
Principle 8: undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental
responsibility; and
Principle 9: encourage the development and diffusion of
environmentally friendly technologies.
Patra is committed to the health and safety of our environment and
community, applying proper disposal and storage of chemicals techniques.
Our business strategy was to have zero% waste in production through
recycling our scrap by using it in cushion & furniture manufacturing.
We also reuse the kraft paper used in foam production for multiple use.
To insure our commitment to environmentally friendly technologies we
designed a cooling system to our foam production area consist of fans that
bellowing on cartoon walls wetted by water, this system reduced our
consumption of electricity and recycled the used water used in irrigation of
our planets.
Our future plans are to enhance our recycling programs and to use energy
saving system by using solar energy lighting system .
We have also design a system that will recycle consumed water for wudu
for irrigating our green area this system will save consumption of 75000
liter of water per year.
Measurement of Outcomes
Our recycling policy recycled 1,363,200 Ton of scrap foam per year.
*Anti-Corruption
Principle 10: Businesses should work against corruption in all its
forms, including extortion and bribery.
Patra does not participate in any corruption, bribery or extortion and does
not do business with organizations that are known to be corrupt.
Patra has Anti-Corruption policy commitment against corruption and to
ensure all directors, officers and employees understand their individual
responsibilities for compliance.
Measurement of Outcomes
Patra has not been involved in any legal cases, rulings or other events
related to corruption or bribery.
Availability of COP
The COP will be available and accessible to all internal and external
stakeholders.
