To ensure permanent microwave receive points are in optimum condition. To maintain set up, install and operate broadcast equipment to support productions in line with broadcast standards. To design maintain and repair equipment and systems to ensure functional and well equipped High Tech Department. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Ensure microwave equipment is in good working condition Ensure permanent microwave receive points are good working condition. Ensure all cables and mechanical microwave equipment are serviced Survey multiple microwave productions Design and repair specialized equipment and systems Coordinate Sections of Major productions Introduce new technologies Research and develop New Technologies and systems Operate specialized outside broadcast equipment Planning ,rigging, set up and operating broadcast equipment. Providing Technical/Operational Support and Advice. Performing Preventative and Corrective Maintenance of Equipment/Facilities Preparing equipment and controlling and monitoring technical quality during productions MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 3 year national diploma ( Electronics light Current) At least 8 years relevant post qualification experience Knowledge and understanding of microwave equipment and systems Knowledge and understanding of circuit diagrams Knowledge and understanding of flow diagrams Knowledge and understanding of IP and file formats Knowledge and understanding of Communication Technologies Knowledge and understanding of Broadcast Standards Knowledge and understanding of Audio and Video formats Knowledge and understanding of TV operations systems, workflows and processes Knowledge and understanding of the OHS Act Knowledge and understanding of rigging best practice Prepared to work as part of a team. Prepared to travel and work irregular hours Prepared to work according to a standby roster Computer literate Microsoft office packages. Drivers License PERSONAL SKILLS/ ATTRIBUTES Keen interest in routine maintenance and keeping equipment in good working order Meticulous attention to detail Functional advice/support to customer/stakeholders to improve quality of productions/broadcast. Effective troubleshooting to rectify production/ broadcast problems in the shortest possible time frame. Correct application/operation of specialized production/broadcast equipment to ensure best broadcast quality.
