7 June 2012 NEW CAMPAIGNING STRENGTH FOR SCENE & HERD CLIENTS The service offered to clients of Scene & Herd PR and Marketing is being strengthened by the addition of a new member to the team. Ross Montague, formerly Director of the Scottish Countryside Alliance, has teamed up with Scene & Herd and brings with him a considerable knowledge of rural Scotland, Scottish politics and rural campaigning. Ross brings the following specific expertise to the Scene & Herd team: - In depth knowledge of rural NGOs and other rural organisations in Scotland - Political lobbying, including parliamentary event planning and campaign promotion in Holyrood - Preparation of bespoke political briefing papers e.g. on forthcoming or new rural legislation - Preparation and submission of responses to government consultations - Copywriting, newsletter writing /editing/production – for print and electronic formats - Event management, including advice on agricultural show’s and game fairs, foot-fall and ‘stand appeal’ - Organising, running and judging an annual cross-sector rural awards scheme Anna Davies, Director of Scene & Herd, explains how she feels the additional expertise offered by Ross Montague could be of benefit to clients: “Monty (Ross Montague) is well known across the rural sector in Scotland, including in the Scottish Parliament. “I believe that my clients, both existing and new, could find Monty’s expertise hugely beneficial. Monty knows intrinsically how to get a rural message, be it business or political, across to a target audience. “In his role with the Scottish Countryside Alliance, Monty worked on wide ranging food sector campaigns and event projects, from the marketing and promotion of game meat and local food to the hosting of farmers markets in parliament. “Additionally, Monty’s knowledge of country sports and agriculture will add further depth to the advice that we are able to offer Scene & Herd clients. Businesses engaged in the food, farming or field sports sectors often have a requirement not only to make themselves seen by their customers but also heard by policy makers and, for that reason, Monty is an excellent addition to the team.” “If your business is looking to grow its impact either politically or within the marketplace, please contact us to learn more about how Scene & Herd can help.” NOTES TO EDITORS Scene & Herd PR and Marketing has been run by Anna Davies, formerly NFU Scotland Communications Manager and Scotland Food & Drink Marketing Manager, since 2009.
