Edwin L. Lamont CIC, CRM, CPIA
Ed Lamont CIC, CRM, CPIA began his insurance career as a surety bond producer and
Vice President of Atlantic Risk Management Corporation in Columbia, Maryland in
1984. He's specialized as a Workers Compensation producer with Burke, Bogart and
Brownell in Boca Raton, Florida since 1993. In 1997, Ed founded the Lamont
Consulting Group, Inc. in Palm Beach, Florida.
Ed’s led Dynamics of Selling, Dynamics of Personal Lines, and Dynamics of
Company/Agency Relationships for the National Alliance for Insurance Education and
Research. He's taught at the National Alliance School for Producer Development and
served on National Alliance’s James K. Ruble faculty.
Ed wrote STREET SMART SELLING: The Beliefs, Strategies, and Management Ideas of
Successful Insurance Professionals. He’s contributed to the Society of Certified
Insurance Counselor's RESOURCES magazine. His sales and marketing ideas have
appeared in AMERICAN AGENT and BROKER magazine.
He’s served as a consultant and webinar presenter for Insurance Marketing and
Management Services (IMMS). Ed’s led scores of sales, personal marketing, and sales
management webcasts. Hundreds of professional insurance agents have benefited by
one-on-one consultation and feedback from Ed.
A graduate of the University of Maryland with a BA in Law Enforcement, Ed earned his
Certified Insurance Counselor professional designation (CIC) in 1990. Certified Risk
Manager (CRM) in 2005, and Certified Professional Insurance Agent (CPIA) in 2015.
Ed completed the National Association of Surety Bond Producers Level II Surety School;
is a former Dale Carnegie Sales Champion and Group Leader; and earned the
Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) designation from Toastmasters International.
Florida businesses, trade associations, and non-profit organizations have benefited from
Ed's workers compensation, risk management, professional networking, public speaking,
and leadership programs. He presents sales and marketing ideas at insurance association
conferences, for insurance company producer schools, and at insurance agencies
throughout the country.
Ed’s the founder of the Bill Gove Golden Gavel Toastmaster club in Boynton Beach, FL
and Palm Beach Toastmaster Club in Palm Beach, FL. He serves as a docent at the
Henry Morrison Flagler Museum in Palm Beach, where he was recognized as 2001,
2006, and 2007 Docent of the Year. Ed lives in Boynton Beach with his wife, Liz, and
basset hound, Rosie.
