Seminar Leader Clinical Concepts WPF Therapy Clinical Qualification and Postgraduate Diploma/MA in Psychodynamic Theory and Practice WPF Therapy is one of the largest organisations in the country offering counselling and psychotherapy training. Over 500 clients are seen each week and 500 students undergo training in counselling skills, counselling, psychotherapy and professional development. The overall responsibility for the management, professional effectiveness and financial viability of WPF Therapy rests with the Chief Executive Officer. A Senior Management Team assists the CEO. The WPF Therapy Ethics Committee is responsible for overseeing ethical practice at WPF Therapy. WPF Therapy offers specialist training in psychodynamic counselling and psychotherapy, individual and group psychoanalytic psychotherapy, professional development including training in supervision, time-limited work, counselling and groupwork skills and enhancement of skills and awareness through weekend activities. The training function is overseen by the Training Management Group. This currently comprises the Director of Services, Assistant Heads of Training, those responsible for organising courses (i.e., Programme Managers), the departmental administrator and representatives from the Counselling Service and the Trainee Association. The overall orientation of WPF Therapy is psychodynamic/psychoanalytic and this is reflected in the specialist counselling, psychotherapy, supervision and continuing professional development programmes. The professional development courses for non-therapists are more broadly based and aim to equip people and organisations with the skills necessary for functioning in a wide variety of situations. Key Tasks and Responsibilities 1. To provide seminar outlines, reading lists and other administrative requirements in advance of the seminar. 2. To run seminars/workshops according to the individual Seminar descriptions, aims and learning outcomes. 3. Regular assessment of trainee progress according to the following criteria: Attendance (100% attendance is desired but 80% is a must) Participation in discussion Written Assignments (A pass of 50% in a written assignment according to the marking guidelines already existing within the training programme for the writing and marking of such assignments). 4. Consultations with the Programme Manager and management as required. 5. Attend up to two staff meetings. (Currently £15 can be claimed for attending some of these meetings please check in advance with your programme coordinator.) 6. To evaluate the module via feedback, questionnaire and post module review with management. 7. Mark clinical essays for an additional fee, as required. 8. To maintain continuous professional development and provide a log if requested to do so by WPF Therapy. Person Specification Qualification The Appointee will have a qualification in psychodynamic/psychoanalytic psychotherapy which enables them to be registered with the BPC. The Appointee will also have a teaching/training qualification or provide evidence of considerable experience of teaching.
