If No, why?
 Traffic is a problem, need to open up Dorset Rd – Brasted Close, to ease traffic
 Catchment area too large
 Surgery too far away
 Housing land should be used for a ‘Park & Ride’ for Sutton station
 Traffic generation
 Parking issues
 Decrease in value of properties
 Disruption to existing properties
 Remote location
5) Do you think that the proposed layout of the residential development
responds appropriately to the local area/context in terms of design and scale?
Yes

Continued overleaf….
If No, why?
 Design appears to be appropriate however too many houses planned
 There is only 20ft from the back of plots 1-4 to our boundary and no proposed
additional screen planting. Concerned that plots 1-4 will cut out the sunlight.
 Parking and congestion. Decrease in privacy and general disruption resulting to
properties being devalued.
 Traffic concerns
 Site should be used solely for one medical centre with remaining land used for ‘Park
& Ride’
 Not enough parking areas for existing plan and future expansion being planned
6) Do you feel that an appropriate level of car parking is shown on the site for
both elements of the scheme?
Yes

If No, how could this be addressed?
 Approximately 45 staff to 45 car spaces. This is not acceptable. Car parking must
cater for at least 35 staff and 35 patients.
 Very concerned there will be insufficient parking on site and that patients will park
outside residential properties
 There definitely needs to be a bus service leading to the combined surgeries – what
about car access from Dorset Road?
 Reduced number of town houses on the site
 Vehicles will park on the existing housing estate roads
 Parking will make access almost impossible causing danger to pedestrians
 The houses need some parking because it is already an issue
 There is probably a low number for joint staff/patient requirements
 Allow more on site. 45 spaces will probably only cover doctors, nurses and staff
 Provide more spaces for both surgeries and housing. Currently there will be a conflict
over parking spaces. Looks like there is more space on the site that should be used
for parking.
 Not clear what parking is available for patients only
7) Are there any other improvements you would like to see made to the
proposals?
 Parking traffic with only one access onto Brighton Road
 Perhaps some detail on opening hours of the GPs and the pharmacy
 Possible 54/53 bus turnaround facility
 Could offer other services, such as physiotherapy treatment facilities
 Complete removal of town houses from proposals as it impacts properties on Sinclair
Drive
 Develop the site for housing only
 I would like to see plots 1-4 realigned so that the residential access road is moved
westward and plots 1-4 eastward so their back gardens back onto the surgery area
 The wall between the medical centre/Sinclair Drive requires security to prevent entry
to Sinclair Drive from the car park
 Check that all patients homes are served conveniently by public transport
 Lime trees drop sticky liquid – do not plant near parked vehicles
 Bigger gardens to the houses
 Ensure that the lift is sufficiently large enough to accommodate wheelchair plus 2
carers without being claustrophobic – what about 2 lifts?
 Belmont Surgery to let patients know exactly where new proposed premises are,
offering maybe a courtesy shuttle
 Concerns about traffic
8) Do you have any other comments which you wish to make?
 I think the redevelopment is a great step forward both for the area and patients
 Very satisfied with proposal
Accessibility
 Some routes not possible by car
 Access by public transport
 Existing Belmont surgery to be retained
 Concerned about significant increase in traffic entering and exiting Brighton Road.
Should there be traffic lights to facilitate this?
 Overflow will inevitably affect the residential parking areas – already at optimum in
Kingswood Drive
 Introducing resident’s parking areas
 Accessibility is paramount
 Number of disability spaces seems inadequate
 Concerned about all the extra traffic using Homeland Drive. How can residents be
sure that their enjoyment of living in the area will not be harmed by more traffic and
people
 Parking issues - Medical building will have 40-45 staff and at least 45 patients at any
one time.
 We have some concern regarding the accessibility of the clinic from Brighton Road
and feel some sort of public transport would be necessary. We understand there will
be 45 parking spaces but these would be used by staff and patients, is this enough?
Residential Amenity
 Currently as the proposal stands we would strongly objecting to the location of the
houses overlooking our property and the potential traffic and parking issues
 The 3 storey building is at least 7 metres closer to own back garden that the
Henderson hospital sits currently. Potential for cutting out light we get in our back
garden. Need to consider the layout of the entire site holistically, not separately.
Other
 Secure and convenient indoor storage for staff cycles. Rumble strips require cycle
lane each side or in the middle.
 Long walk to bins
 The medical centre needs to be secure to prevent burglary
 Would like more detail on the security and lighting arrangements for the site.
 More information on restrictions to noise
 Dissatisfied with the proposals. GPs/developers do not need to fund their business
based on the detriment of the health and wellbeing of the local community. The
article in the local guardian is misleading as it does not mention the residential
properties included in the proposals.
 Detailed proposals are useful
 Look forward to receiving further details on traffic numbers as well as any other
subsequent public information
 School places with added housing
 The waiting area should have more than 24 seats, seats should be free standing and
should all face the same way towards the monitors
