Final: NEH 235 Hymns for 15th November 2015 Forth in thy name, O Lord, I go my daily labour to pursue; thee, only thee, resolved to know, in all I think, or speak, or do. Entrance: CH4 198 The task thy wisdom hath assigned, O let me cheerfully fulfill; in all my works thy presence find, and prove thy good and perfect will. Thee may I set at my right hand, whose eyes my inmost substance see: and labour on at thy command, and offer all my works to thee. Give me to bear thy easy yoke, and every moment watch and pray; and still to things eternal look, and hasten to thy glorious Day. For thee delightfully employ whate'er thy bounteous grace hath given, and run my course with even joy and closely walk with thee to heaven. Let us build a house where love can dwell and all can safely live, a place where saints and children tell how hearts learn to forgive. Built of hopes and dreams and visions, Rock of faith and vault of grace; here Christ’s love shall end divisions; all are welcome in this place. Let us build a house where prophets speak, and words are strong and true, where all God's children dare to seek to dream God's reign anew. Here the cross shall stand as witness and a symbol of God's grace; here we claim the faith of Jesus: all are welcome in this place. Let us build a house where love is found in water, wine and wheat: a banquet hall on holy ground, where peace and justice meet. Here the love of God, through Jesus, is revealed in time and space; as we share the feast that frees us: all are welcome in this place. Gradual: NEH 461 There’s a wideness in God’s mercy, like the wideness of the sea; there’s a kindness in his justice, which is more than liberty. There is no place where earth’s sorrows are more felt than up in heaven; there is no place where earth’s failings have such kindly judgment given. For the love of God is broader than the measure of man’s mind; and the heart of the Eternal is most wonderfully kind. But we make his love too narrow by false limits of our own; and we magnify his strictness with a zeal he will not own. There is plentiful redemption in the blood that has been shed; there is joy for all the members in the sorrows of the Head. There is grace enough for thousands of new worlds as great as this; there is room for fresh creations in that upper home of bliss. If our love were but more simple, we should take him at His word; and our lives would be all gladness in the joy of Christ our Lord. Daily doth th’Almighty Giver bounteous gifts on us bestow; His desire our soul delighteth, pleasure leads us where we go. Love doth stand at his hand; joy doth wait on his command. Still from man to God eternal sacrifice of praise be done. High above all praises praising for the gift of Christ his Son. Christ doth call one and all: ye who follow shall not fall. Offertory: NEH 333 Communion: SOF 398 All my hope on God is founded; He doth still my trust renew. Me through change and chance he guideth, only good and only true. God unknown, He alone calls my heart to be his own. Pride of man and earthly glory, sword and crown betray his trust; what with care and toil he buildeth, tower and temple, fall to dust: but God’s power, hour by hour, is my temple and my tower. God’s great goodness aye endureth, deep his wisdom, passing thought: splendour, light and life attend him, beauty springeth out of naught. Evermore from his store new-born worlds rise and adore. My Lord, what love is this that pays so dearly, that I, the guilty one, may go free! Amazing love, O what sacrifice, the Son of God giv’n for me my debt he pays, and my death he dies that I might live, that I might live! And so they watched him die, despised, rejected; but oh, the blood he shed flowed for me! Amazing love… And now this love of Christ shall flow like rivers; come wash your guilt away, live again! Amazing love…
