William Brown came from Ulster County Ireland to Augusta County VA
in the early 1700's and died there May 19, 1761. He married Mary

William proved his importation in Orange County VA court May 22,
1742, testifying that he had come from County Ulster, Ireland to
Philadelphia, PA and then to Price William County VA and then to the
Beverly Manor patent in the Kanawha River valley in VA in 1740. He
served in the Augusta County Militia in 1742 and was a member of the
Tinkling Springs meeting House in Augusta County.
Mary moved to Greenbrier County VA after William died and she died
there about 1817.

Henry Brown" and Volume 1 of Hickory and Lady Slippers lists a Dr.
Henry Brown among the early medical practitioners in what is now Clay
County WV. The 1880 census of Clay County lists "Brown, Henry age 46
physician and wife Sophrony age 45 housewife."
Henry's second wife was Susanna Dunbar.

Zepeniah and Rebecca (Davis) Nichols, was born in Bath County VA about
1794, and died in Clay County WV in July 1869. Susannah was his third
wife.
In the 1870 Clay County WV census, Susanna is enumerated in the
home of her son, Anthony R. Brown. She married Clark Jarrett in Clay
County October 14, 1882.
