Welcome to Jubilee Administrative and Research Services Specialising in Genealogy, local and family history research, social history research and Resumés (CVs), letters of application, selection criteria, proof reading, letter writing Research Services My genealogical research service is ideal for people with an interest in their ancestors but neither the time nor the knowledge required to successfully trace them. Genealogy is a time-consuming occupation requiring many hours of patient research in order to produce an accurate family tree. I specialise in all types of genealogical and social history research relating to Western Australia and the other Australian States, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Administrative Services Professionally written letters of application, resumés/curriculum vitae (CVs) and selection criteria (where required) are essential for any successful job application. In consultation with you I will create or update any or all of these documents. I can also provide proof reading and general letter writing services. The Company Jubilee Administrative and Research Services is owned by Sally Erwood-Carryer, who is also the primary researcher. I have a BA (Hons) in Social Sciences and twenty years’ experience as a genealogist, family and social historian. I won the 2005 Janet Reakes Memorial Award with my essay The Lives of Two English Convicts. You can read this brief account of the experiences of two of my great, great, great grandparents here http://www.janetreakesgenealogy.com/MemorialAward/2005JRMA1.pdf RESEARCH SERVICES Genealogy & family history research Specialising in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom With twenty years’ experience in genealogical and family history research behind me and a passion for helping others, please allow me to assist you to begin the journey into your family’s past. Utilising all existing records I will create your family tree, and even add some of the leaves where possible, to give you an idea of who and where you come from. Like a detective I work from the known to the unknown. To begin the journey I will need your full name and date and place of birth as your family tree starts with you. If you have children and/or a partner and wish their names to be added to the tree I will need those details as well. Then, I will ask you to provide me with as many other details as possible so that your tree starts off with strong roots. Remember, many people will share your name and the names of your ancestors. They may have not only the same names and dates of birth, but they may also come from the same town or village. To research your family I will utilise a wide range of sources. These will include: England and Wales census records from 1841-1911 England and Wales births, deaths and marriages from 1837 onwards England and Wales parish births, deaths and marriages pre-1837 Scottish and Irish records where available Newspapers Australian and New Zealand births, deaths and marriages Convict records Passenger Lists Wills Military Records Electoral Rolls…… and much more Special note on the limitations of Australian and New Zealand research. Due to strict privacy laws birth, death and marriage records from Australia and New Zealand are not as freely available as those from the United Kingdom. BDMs from these two countries are only available as follows: New South Wales – Records begin from 1788 Births – up to 100 years ago Deaths - up to 30 years ago Marriages – up to 50 years ago Victoria – Historical Index Births 1853-1910 Deaths 1853-1942 Marriages 1853-1985 Church baptisms, marriages & burials 1836-1853 Tasmania Births after 100 years Deaths after 25 years Marriages after 75 years Queensland – Historical Index Births up to & including 1914 Deaths up to & including 1964 Marriages up to & including 1934 Qld Historical Certificates can be purchased for: Births more than 100 years ago Deaths more than 30 years ago Marriages more than 75 years ago South Australia Births – 75 years or older Deaths – 25 years or older Marriages – 60 years or older Western Australia Births 1841-1932 Deaths 1841-1966 Marriages 1841-1936 New Zealand Births that occurred at least 100 years ago Stillbirths that occurred at least 50 years ago Deaths that occurred at least 80 years ago or the deceased’s date of birth was at least 80 years ago Marriages that occurred at least 80 years ago Within these parameters, however, a great deal of information can usually be found.
