It is our passion to work with our children, their parents and carers and our staff to create great schools that demonstrate integrity of purpose through high aspiration for every child. We set high expectations for our leaders and teachers to support and stretch every child to ensure they make excellent progress and build the skills, knowledge and attributes that will prepare them well for secondary school and beyond. We believe we have a distinctive sponsor model for delivering this vision and purpose in our academies. The key elements are: We value the uniqueness of local communities and see each academy reflecting the highest aspirations for its community. To that end you will not find a common uniform for all our academies, nor a common day, curriculum or specialism. We want our academies to develop their own unique identity within a shared common commitment to high aspirations and excellence, build strong links with their local communities and become welcoming places for local community groups and adult learners. We fulfil our purpose with a relentless focus on great leadership for world-class schools. EMLC is a national charity that is expert in identifying, developing and assessing talented leaders. We hold national contracts with the DfE/National College for Teaching and Leadership and we work with outstanding school leaders from some of the best schools in the country to deliver our mission. We benchmark our current and future middle, senior and Principal leaders in our academies against national standards and then place them on an improvement trajectory to outstanding and world class with a personalised action plan and tailored support. Third Wave, our school improvement arm, works with the very best schools and academies as well as those in need of support in order to bring them together to build capacity and capability at a pace, especially in teaching and learning, and to achieve exceptional school improvement. We are proud of the contribution it made for three years to the success of the London Challenge, a programme that transformed standards in London schools, and also of the contract we have to train National Teaching Schools to deliver their teacher improvement programmes. These short and highly effective programmes are deployed in our own academies and consist of the Improving Teacher Programme, the Outstanding Teacher Programme and the Outstanding Facilitator Programme. We know from our national work that successful delivery of these coaching and modelling programmes leads to consistent high quality teaching We believe in the importance of an innovative curriculum for our academies. It will focus strongly on mastering literacy and mathematics using well researched and proven approaches to mastering phonics and the difficult areas of mathematical learning such as fractions and place value. It will also include a foreign language from Year 2, computing, science, geography, history, art, music and physical education. We will extend the day that children are at our academies, because we do not think there are any short cuts to success. This will provide more time for learning, enjoyment and enrichment activities. We see extra-curricular activities as extremely important ways of helping our children develop passions, build skills, hone expertise and commitment and love learning. We place great importance on a proper partnership with parents and carers and believe that they play an important role in the development and progress of their children in our academies. We have established/establishing Parent Advocacy Groups at our academies to be an authentic voice for parents and carers and an effective means of communication between them and the academy staff and governors. With that in mind we will work with our PAGs, using their help, advice and support to develop materials and resources that parents and carers can use in order to become active partners in their children's learning. 3 Class Teacher Stimpson Avenue Academy, Northamptonshire Dates: Apply by Thursday 29th January 2015, 10am.
