Rubric LEARNINGTARGET E-4 M-3 P-2 B-1 Focus: Personal Narrative (Friendly & Business Letter Writing Formats) Student exceeded the standard by providing the following: The student was able to present content from the journal as opposed to reading from the paper. The student looked up consistently & made eye contact with the audience. The student read with expression and emphasis. The student wrote more than what was required. A hand drawn or computer generated picture or prop was added. Student met the standard if the following criteria are met: The student wrote at least 1 paragraph on assigned topic & in correct format. The student wrote a title (top line), and stayed within the margins (red lines). The student wrote topic & concluding sentences. The student was prepared to present on the due date. The student followed the assigned letter style/format. The student read w/fluency without assistance, and understanding vocabulary. Student is progressing toward the standard. At the least, the student: Wrote 5 related sentences on the assigned topic & using the correct format. Presented their journal writing to the class. Student is beginning to work toward the standard. Key areas to correct: o The student must write at least 5 sentences. o The sentences must be on topic. o The student must practice reading aloud what they wrote prior to class.
