Commitment:
We are seeking qualified and experienced volunteer teacher for
adult learners to deliver Cornish lessons.
Karenza Facility, Cornwall College Camborne Campus, Pool,
Redruth, Cornwall
All year round
Saturday mornings from 10.30 to 12.30

Role summary:
Movyans Skolyow Meythrin is a Community Interest Company
based in Redruth that provides bilingual Saturday preschool to
children aged between 2 and 5.
The students are the parents and carers of the children attending
our bilingual Saturday preschool. Therefore, our volunteer adult
teacher will teach the learners to use Cornish at home so as to be
able to support their children in their learning of the Cornish
language. The volunteer adult teacher will also have to support
the parents/carers in designing and producing resources to be used
by his colleagues (volunteer Early Years teacher/teaching
assistant) in the classroom with the children.

Motivating and stimulating the students’ learning abilities,
often encouraging learning through (sensorial) experience;
Providing them with support,
Attending and work alongside those students who require
additional support in their class
Providing them with a secure environment to learn;
Devising and producing visual aids and teaching
resources;
Organising learning materials and resources, and making
imaginative use of resources;
Encouraging learning development through stories, songs,
games, drawing and imaginative role play;
Working with others to plan and coordinate work;
Sharing knowledge gained with other practitioners and
parents;

Movyans Skolyow Meythrin aims to provide affordable bilingual
preschool education to every young child of preschool age in
Cornwall. Movyans Skolyow Meythrin is the only Community
Interest Company in Cornwall which offers the opportunity for
children of preschool age and their families to learn the Cornish
language understand and use it in a formal setting. We need
bilingual teachers who are ready to work to high standards in
order to provide an affordable high quality service to the children
