A Christmas Carol
There once was a mean, rude, bully named John. He is very ungrateful. He is always so mean.
He was sitting in his room, waiting for his parents to get home. He heard footsteps. He didn’t know what
to do, so he leaped to the door, shut and locked the door. He ran in his closet and hid under some
cloths. Then, the ghost like object and it looked like his old enemy Emma. Emma was a nice girl, until a
mean girl named Emily moved to their school, and that changed everything. She got into a car accident,
and died. He wondered why is she here? Then, before he knew it, she was sitting right next to him.
“What and who are you?” John said.
She replied, “Emma your old enemy, I got taken off this earth because I was a bully. And so are
you. If you don’t change, you will be like me with chains and weights on you, for a punishment. You
need to change!”
He said, “Why do I need to change. I am fine with the way I am.” She added, “Well, you are very
mean, otherwise you will be no Christmas presents, and no friends. So, the choice is yours. “
He sat there, and thought about how he has been acting, and decided he was going to change.
After that, he ran and grabbed his fuzzy, snow white coat, and went to the store. He got a pack
of candy canes. Then, he ran home. When he got there, his mom was there. She was just taking off her
hot pink coat, as John did the same. He ran to his room, and shut the door. He put the red and white
mint candy canes in his sky blue backpack, and hopped into bed. He started to watch the Grinch stole
Christmas, but turned it off. Then he dozed off to sleep.
The next morning, he decided to walk to school. He walked by the hospital, fire station, and the
ambulance station. When he got to school, he saw his friend, Jimmy Peplinski. They have been friends
since 1st grade. He was one of those kids, with the fire red hair. He also had a lot of reddish freckles. He
was really short; maybe 4’8. I met him at my locker, and I handed him a candy cane. He said thank you,
and started eating it. The rest of the day, he gave somebody he’s been mean too, a candy cane. It was a
lot of people.
He was sitting at home, alone. Then another object flouted. It was another ghost, he thought.
He was scared to death, even though he has talked to a ghost before. The object was now sitting on the
grassy green couch, across from him. The object said,
“Hello. My name is Max. I come down to earth to help rude people see their past, and what
people think about you. So, come on, let’s go.” John was very confused.
He replied,” Umm… okay I guess. But I am confused, am I really a horrible person?”
Max said, “Yes, but not all the time. Now, let’s go before it gets too late. “
“Okay”, John said.
When he stopped moving, he was in him friend Jimmy’s house. I walked around, looking for him.
His family was gathered around the table. They were having hot potatoes and juicy ham. It looked so
good.
Jimmy’s mom said, “So Jimmy how was your day?”
He replied” Okay I guess.”
Then she said,” Come on Jim what is wrong?”
He said, “Well John has just changed. We used to be best friends, but now he is just mean. He
always bullied me and I am the only friend he has. But, he treats me like I am just a horrible person, and
I am tired of it.”
“Well sometimes he can be mean, and if he continues to be a bully, you may not be friends
anymore. I hate seeing you come home in tears because of him. So, just listen to me, okay?”
”Okay, I guess.” He said.
He ran up to his room. So, they followed him up. But John didn’t go with Max, he standed there
feeling confused, and guilty. He now realized how mean he truly was.
He ran upstairs to Max and said, “Listen, I really need to go, please.”
Max replied, “Okay, fine. Come hold my hand and I will zap you back into your weird time zone.”
He ran over there, grabbed his hand, and they zapped away.
When he zapped in, his mom didn’t even notice him. He ran to his room, nearly tripping he was
going too fast. He used to hate his dad. He always left at night and went somewhere. When he came
home, it was at like 4:30 in the morning, most of the time. But now, they don’t have to worry about
that. His mom came to his room, and gave him a hug.
She said, “I’m sorry that I haven’t had any time for you lately, and I feel bad. So, how about
tomorrow night we hang out, just the two of us?Just us?”
John thought, and then said,” Okay, I guess.”
“How about we watch, How the Grinch stole Christmas?” she added.
“Okay, I am going to change and then I will be right back. You start the movie” he said.
“Okay honey” she said.
They snuggled into their fuzzy, chocolate colored blanket. They had a great time together, now
that Johns dad wasn’t coming home anymore. They never knew where he went. He has been gone for
about two weeks now. John’s mom went to make some buttery popcorn, and john had another ghost
appear. He prayed that the ghost wouldn’t take him away from his mom. But he did before John could
have a say in it.
“Hello, my name is Charlie. I was sent by Max to show you present time, and what people say
about you. Now, let’s go!” she said.
“Umm okay but can you pause time?” he said.
“Yes, actually we can. So I will pause time so you can see what people are saying about you, but
you can still hang out with your mom after. Okay?” she said.
“Okay, now let’s hurry!” he replied.
Before he knew it, he was at his teacher (Mr. Alance’s) house. His family was sitting in the living
room watching a show called Dirty Jobs. John thought to himself, me and my dad used to watch that
together. He now realized how much he missed him. But, that didn’t matter now. His teacher started to
talk to his son.
“Hey bud, how was your day?” he said.
“Good, I guess. How was yours?” he said.
“Horrible. There is a naughty, non- grateful boy named John, and I want to slap him silly
sometimes.” He replied.
“Oh, do you yell at him? He asked
“Yes, but he just doesn’t get it” he said.
Before he knew it, John ran through the door and found himself to me lying there, in Mr.
Alance’s neighbor’s house. He couldn’t move. He felt horrible. He thought to himself. I never knew I
ruined so many people’s lives. Charlie ran outside. She yelled and yelled, but couldn’t find him. She
finally got the neighbors back yard, and grabbed his hand. They flashed back, and John was sitting on his
cozy bed. His mom ran in there.
“Let’s watch the movie now!” she said.
“Okay!” he replied.
The rest of the night, they had fun.
That whole next day they went shopping. They went to a lot of stores, and had fun. When they
got home, they were very worn out. John ran into his room, and called his friend. Ring, ring.
“Hello?” Jimmy said.
Hey, it’s John. I was wondering if you would want to spend the night at my house?” he stated.
“Okay! One second, let me ask” he said.
A minute later, he was talking again.
“Yes I can. I will be over in 20 minutes, okay? Jimmy said.
“Okay! Sounds good.” John replied.
When Jimmy got there, they were both really excited. They ran down stairs, into the
living room. They started to play on the wii. They played Just Dance 3. John had to go to the
bathroom, so he sprinted there. When he walked in, there was a ghost waiting for him.
John said, “Okay, who are you?”
The ghost replied, “Hello, my name is Skyler. I came here to earth to show bad people
the future, if they don’t decide to change. So, come on lets go quick, I have to show 13 more
people their future.”
“Umm…. Okay.” He replied.
When they got there, it was dark. They were inside a house. When they walked to the
other room, there was an old man sitting in a chair, all alone. Soon, there were little kids ringing
on the door.
He yelled out the window, “Leave me alone! I don’t want any cookies or nuts!”
They ran away, into their mom’s car.
“Good.” He said.
“That is you when you are old. You will be alone for the rest of your life if you don’t
change. “Skyler said.
“Wow” he said.
They zapped back really quickly. He ran into the living room, and saw Jimmy trying to kill
the zombies. It was really funny, because he was jumping all over the place.
“Listen, Jimmy I am so sorry for the way I have been treating you lately. You are such a
good friend and you don’t deserve it. I am really sorry.” John said.
“Thank you. That is all I wanted, an apology, and I accept it. Now, let’s kill some
zombies!” he replied.
And the rest of the night, they had a lot of fun, and John was never mean again.
