Business Arising:
Aitken’s sponsorship has been received.
Brookfield indicated that they would like to host the Zone Derby again in 2014.
Treasurer’s Report:
The Treasurer’s report is up to date and includes the Zone Showjumping. In the year to date we are slightly
down on revenue but the bottom line is actually up on last year. Accounts Receivable is looking good at
present. A P&L for the last three events was attached. For the Aitkens Showjumping and Sporting Champs the
catering accounts are still to come. In regards to the Zone Derby, despite the initial worry that this might run at
a loss a significant profit was posted, largely due to the sponsorship received. Unfortunately the Zone Show
Jumping ran at a loss – as was expected. The Cheque account balance is $2,886.16 and the Investment
Account balance $65,309.26 – so our funds are slowly but surely increasing.
Moved Ron Ford, Seconded Tracey Evans that the Treasurer’s report be accepted.
Carried
CIP Report:
Presented by Erika.
CIP clinics and events:
 Rider Proficiency Certificate Assessment was held 12th October at Samford. Only 1 nomination was
received. Thanks to Carmen and Paul. Usually there are testing days each year; however from next
year they will only do 1, in the latter part of the year.
 On the same day Erika held a get together for Prelim trainees – it would seem there is a need for more
of these and more formal clinics for the trainees.

PCAQ & NCAS Coach Assessment Day 16th November, to be held at Corinda. Reminders have been
sent out. 6 nominations have been received so far, and the closing date is 04/11/13. Each club
attending has been asked to provide 2 riders.
 There has been a request for a Prelim Transition Night – this will be held 27/11/13 at PCAQ House.
 Southport Clinic will be on 11-12 January 2014. Places for the clinics will be limited.
Moved Erika Woodland, Seconded by Michael Carlson that the CIP report be accepted.

Formal Sub Committee:
Carmen Coombs presented the report.
The year has had its highs and lows – with some really good events which has been exciting. A thank you to
all clubs for their help at the last couple of events – especially Aitkens and the Showjumping (though the
numbers were low it was a lovely day).
Janelle took 5 teams to Caboolture for the Zone Team Showjumping. Good results and a good time.
Last weekend the Zone Team Dressage was held at Southport. The 3 young riders, from Moggill, Samford and
Runcorn were beautifully presented and the 13 & Under 17 Yrs team won Overall Champion. The numbers at
the event were down by about a third.
Dinner with the Aitken’s sponsors was a lovely chance to chat about the future of horse riding. It is great to see
the large numbers in the younger age groups.
We are already getting officials for the Zone Showjumping 2014.
Moved Carmen Coombs, Second Justin Rosenberg that the Sub-committee report be accepted.
Carried
Sporting Sub-committee:
Michael said nothing to report.
Grant attended the State Sporting and Campdraft Championships at Rockhampton. There were 7 Zone 1
riders – very well organised event.
Website Report: Nil.
Publicity: Nil.
PCAQ Delegates Report:
Presented by Michael Carlson.
No meeting was held in September.
The State CIP has advised that Stockman’s Polo will go into the Rule Book.
Led and assisted classes are to be non-competitive (8 and Unders). It is the responsibility of the parent to
appoint a suitable handler.
The PCAQ form is to be redesigned to include a check box for subscription to the PCAQ magazine.
The recommendation for Hendra Vaccinated Events was deferred. This asks that events held in high risk
areas (not just along the coast) where 1 or more horses stay overnight be designated a Hendra Vaccinated
Event and all participating horses will need to be vaccinated.
AHIA workshop attended by Gary, Justin and Rose – was deferred to General Business.
Joseph Liddy have developed a package on Leather Care – can be utilised by Zone or Clubs, a possibility for
Zone Camp.
Michael Carlson moved the report be accepted, seconded by Julie Lynham

General Business:
1) Christmas Break up – Rose reported that they have it all in order. 7th December at 6pm. Will be hot
meats, salads and desserts. Flyer will be out soon – nominate through your club. $30 for adults, $15
under 25, and under 6 free. Entertainment will be jumping castle, face painting, snow cones and
mechanical bull. Tickets will be taken at gate.
2) Justin spoke about the Workshop held on 02/10/13. It is essential to have bio-security measures in
place e.g.: Horse Health Forms may become compulsory for all horses on the ground at events, not
just those competing, and will need to include the horse’s most recent PIC number. It was noted that
those who had contracted Hendra were not using PPE and were doing invasive procedures.
3) Discussion ensued about Horse Health Forms and how they were to be kept for.
4) Discussion followed regarding the Hendra Vaccination vote to come at the PCAQ meeting, making it
compulsory for State Events and PCAQ funded seminars.
Date of next meeting: 25th November
Meeting closed 9.15 pm
