On Tuesday, April 10 a 2005-2006 TAKS awards ceremony was held for Grades 3-8. Mrs.
Ashton presented pins to students who achieved commended status on individual TAKS
tests for the 2005-2006 school year. Medals were presented to students who received
commended status on all tests. In addition, a pep rally was led by the High School
cheerleaders to encourage students on this year’s TAKS tests. Afterwards all enjoyed an ice
cream sandwich for giving their best effort on the TAKS. A list of students below shows
subjects in which they were commended and an asterisk designates students also receiving a
medal.

JH TMSCA ATTENDS STATE
Jr.High State TMSCA results from the State Meet held in San Antonio March 31st. The Science team
placed 5th overall. The team members were: 7th graders- Caleb Conrady, Emily Beisch, Nathan
Scheffe, and Braydon Ingram. Individual places were as follows in Science: Caleb Conrady- 2nd, Emily
Beisch- 9th, Nathan Scheffe-10th, Braydon Ingram- 18th. 6th grader Adam Hoff participated placed 10th
in Number Sense, 7th in Math, and 10th in Science. Braydon Ingram placed 12th in the math contest.
Lucas Veitenheimer also qualified for state and participated in Science. Congratulations to these young
scholars on a job well done.
JH Wins UIL Academic District Meet
Windthorst JH won the 2006 District13-A East Zone UIL Academic Contest on Dec.12, 2006 in
Munday. Windthorst 7th and 8th graders accumulated 543 points to edge out Munday who was
second with 522 points and Seymour who placed third with 516 points. Thanks to the students
and coaches who put in extra time and effort to win their events. We are very proud of our
students and staff for all their hard work. Great Job!!
