Job Description
I. Purpose and Objective of the Position: Through personal example, mentoring, and leading ministries both
within and beyond the church walls, be a change agent to help individuals, families, and the church
become “bold Jesus proclaimers and active world changers” in our daily lives
II. Responsibilities: Include but are not limited to:
● With members of the congregation, create structures and opportunities of ministry outside the church—
primarily locally but also beyond this region--that provide significant and inviting opportunities to grow in
being “bold Jesus proclaimers and active world changers”

Work with church ministries to guide them into living out the Mission and Vision, including…
○ Lead a new team that will give direction to, support and guide a Wednesday [Community] Night; the
goal of the night will be such that members delight in it and are interested in inviting friends and
neighbors to it
○ Work with the children’s and youth ministry leaders to promote active ministry by students both in and
outside the church
○ Develop and grow a young adult ministry that actively reflects our Mission and Vision
○ Work with the leaders of Friends Helping Friends to promote its ministry in the lives of church
members and in the broader community
Be a member of the Mission and Vision Task Force (MVTF) and with their guidance and support direct
the active implementation of the ministry plans
Attend staff meetings and Council meetings
Regularly participate in worship leadership
Provide occasional ministry testimonies in worship, quarterly reports to the Council and a yearly report at
the congregational meeting
III. Qualifications & Skills: Personal and professional characteristics for the position. The employee must:
● Have a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Master of his/her life
● Have an adventurous spirit for ministry beyond the walls of the church, both locally and internationally
● Be willing to become a member of, and promote the mission, vision, and core values of Crossroads CRC
● Have experience in engaging a church or other non-profit in ministry beyond its walls
● Be a proactive, creative thinker and problem solver with a positive attitude and a sense of humor
● Be a servant leader who is a team builder and able to delegate, having excellent communication skills
with the ability to inspire and motivate people, especially youth and young adults
● Have the energy and tenacity to be able to take initiative and follow through on plans
IV. Reporting Relationship:
This position is under the direction of and in a close working relationship with the Pastor. Evaluations will
take place in three and six months and on an annual basis after that
V. Position Compensation: This is a full-time position and will be paid $40,000-55,000 per year depending on
education and experience. The position includes 3 weeks of paid vacation leave and does not include
medical insurance or a pension plan.
