The France Stone Foundation Scholarship awards are for majors in the degree programs in the College of
Languages, Literature and Social Sciences.
This year’s recipients will be first year or transfer student accepted for admission to a degree program in the
College of Languages, Literature and Social Sciences. Students accepted into the three year degree program
option are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

The scholarship will be awarded primarily financial need with consideration given to academic achievement.
Two awards of $1100 each are available this year. One award will be given to a major in the Humanities or
Interdisciplinary program and one award will be given to a major in the Social Sciences. This one-year award is
renewable, as long as the student maintains enrollment status and a 2.0 overall GPA. The scholarship rates
may vary from year to year. The application form follows.

France Stone Foundation Scholarship
2013-2014 Award
The France Stone Foundation Scholarship recipient shall be a first year or
transfer student accepted for admission to a degree program in the College of
Languages, Literature and Social Sciences. Students accepted into the three year
degree program option are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Financial need is determined in accordance with Free Application for Federal
Student Aid (FAFSA). A completed 2012-2013 FAFSA must be submitted by April
26, 2013. The form is found at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Please attach a 1 page
application letter indicating your name, phone number and e-mail address and a
statement (250 word maximum) of your academic goals and achievements.
