ADDRESS FOR ROUTE PLANNERS (GPS DIRECTING)

BY BUS, TAXI or TRAIN
Please pay attention: take the train direction Leuven and NOT to Louvain-la-neuve (Louvain-la-neuve
is situated near Wavre and houses the French speaking equivalent of the KU Leuven).
At Leuven station, you can take a taxi to the Castle of Arenberg (this will cost between ca. € 15 and
will take ca. 5-10 min.).
You can also take bus 2 (ca. 20 min.) "Heverlee Campus" in the direction "Heverlee Campus" or bus
616 (ca. 10 min.). The bus stops on the Kantineplein, 150m of the Arenberg Castle (see map for in
attachment for further indications).
Yet another alternative is to take the local train from Leuven in the direction of Wavres/Louvain-laNeuve (ca. 5 min.). The first station is that of Heverlee. If you get out there it is a ten minute walk to
Arenberg Castle.
A final possibility, is renting a Blue Bike at the bicycle parking to the south of the station. You can cycle
to the Arenberg castle in about 15 minutes by following the ring road around Leuven from the train
station in southern direction (to your left when you are standing in front of the station). Follow the ring
road to the intersection 'Naamse Poort' and turn left at the Total service station. The road immediately
splits in two, go right onto the 'Kardinaal Mercierlaan'. Follow this lane lined with chestnutt trees for
about one kilometer until the 'Kantineplein', a cross-roads square. Enter the Arenberg park
immediately to your right.
BY PLANE
In the Brussels Airport (Zaventem), take the train to Leuven (about 16 minutes), not Louvain-la-Neuve!
You'll find trains for Leuven by searching for: Leuven or Landen. From Leuven station, proceed as
mentioned in the paragraph above.
