Past participants of this training share their positive experiences!
The major motivating factors for embracing the CareerCycles narrative method of practice at our Centre had to do with
both consistency and quality assurance. As a manager, I feel more confident knowing there’s a consistent approach and a
common language used when supporting students with their career exploration. In addition, the framework is flexible
enough to allow professional staff to draw on their personal styles and experiences, while adding to their professional
skill set.” -Tony Botelho, Manager, Career Services & Volunteer Services, Simon Fraser University
The CareerCycles training was the completion of counselor education for career counselors. - Alan Jones, career
counselor, Northeastern University, Chicago
I have really enjoyed using the CareerCycles interventions and method and feel that clients are responding well to them. I
find that the model and interventions are particularly great at getting clients to buy in right from the start and at
encouraging their involvement, which is so empowering and crucial for positive change! I’m excited to continue to apply
them and to witness their impact on clients’ journeys through transition and change. - Geneviève Beaupré, M.Ed.
Counsellor, George Brown College
The CareerCycles Framework is EXACTLY the easy-to-follow (and implement!) process I was searching for! I now have a
step-by-step approach to effectively guide clients in making and taking their own meaningful actions toward their
desired goals (even when they have no idea what they are!). The best thing too is being confident I am efficiently using
both of our time! This training is the mastermind of all of the best the career development field has to offer in theory,
research, experience and, maybe even more importantly, practical common sense. Thank you Mark Franklin for
revolutionizing the way I will now work with —no wait— rempower’ my clients. - Jerri McCallum, April 2013
Excellent and knowledgeable facilitator. The method will be very applicable to work with clients. I am excited to apply it!
-Trina Greer, Government of New Brunswick
Great resources, structure for program, well laid out, great facilitator, pacing, presentation & knowledge. I like how it is a
continuing evolving model. Thanks! I came into the training with some ambivalence as I have been bored with career
counseling. I leave with a sense of purpose and excitement, feeling/believing I can offer my clients something of value.
With practice, I think I will be a much better career counsellor and coach. – Robyn Rushford Kwantlen University
I like the model-focus on narrative. My present, worn-out approach and career is unsatisfactory. This session was
exciting and brought back hope. Great to have a clear framework - yet it's not ‘manualized.’ Game is so well thought out,
so creative and fun and engaging. Brilliant! – Wendy Belter, Kwantlen University
