CROWDFUNDING
Participants are expected to crowdfund the Kick tuition. Kick has established a partnership with
startsomegood.com however you are free to use any crowdfunding platform you choose. The suggested
crowdfunding duration is for a 10-day campaign. Last year all applicants that ran a campaign successfully
raised their minimum (most set it at $2,000 to cover tuition and membership dues) and many went well
beyond the minimum. Some team members choose to set their goal slightly above $2,000 (i.e., $5,000)
in order to cover additional startup expenses (logos, legal fees, incorporation, etc).
Here are a few documents that can help you to prepare for your crowdfunding campaign. The first link is
a guide that was specifically developed by StartSomeGood for Kick participants:

Crowdfunding helps us to validate your idea and provides a transparent way to raise your first friends
and family round. However, if you are an existing business with revenues or you have other reasons why
you would rather pay the fees without running a crowdfunding campaign please contact us and we can
make arrangements. Note: crowdfunding can be intimidating if it’s your first time, but we’re here to
help! If you follow the above guides and put in the work, you will raise the money needed. Reach out if
you need individual assistance.
