SEQUENCE OF EVENTS
SATELLITE LOCATIONS
Note: This document is meant to outline the sequence of events that will take place on your assigned date for the No Stone Left Alone event at cemeteries other than Beechmount. All TBD timings are to be designated by your assigned soldier, based on travel time to the individual sites. Note that all the key timings for the ceremony and the commencement of national anthem coincide with those at Beechmount.
NOTE: OPI- Officer of Principal Interest (Head Soldier)
TBD hrs: Advance party departs the Edmonton Garrison, if required.
TBD hrs: Military contingent departs Edmonton Garrison
TBD hrs: Military contingent arrives at cemetery; members are broken down into their working groups and positioned for tasks.
TBD hrs: Students arrive at cemetery. Poppies will be on site with the NSLA site representatives.
TBD hrs: Students are broken down into required groups; students should have their poppies already.
TBD hrs: Students move to designated areas and hold in location until word given to move into position.
TBD hrs: Final confirmation that all groups are in place and ready for the event.
TBD hrs: Students and military peers who are participating in the cenotaph ceremony take their positions, if there is a cenotaph. If there is not, the military will choose position.
TBD hrs: Participants and attendees arrive and move to the cenotaph location. Note: Simultaneously, the
Poppy Teams will start to move into position along the rows of headstones under the guidance of their military counterparts. Once in location, the students and military are to remain in place until given the word to start.
TURN OFF CELL PHONES
1030 hrs: Singing of “O Canada” (English/French).
TBD hrs GUEST SPEAKER/INTRO/GREETINGS *If available.
TBD hrs: Student will read the Student will read “In Flanders Fields”.
TBD hrs: Prayer of Remembrance (by Padre, Deacon, or Pastor if present).
TBD hrs: Student will read the “Commitment to Remember”.
TBD hrs: Legion member/Soldier will read the “Act of Remembrance”.
TBD hrs: Bugler plays Last Post and flags are lowered to half-mast (if available).
TBD hrs: One minute of silence will be observed by all.
TBD hrs: If piper available, plays lament (Flowers of the Forest).
TBD hrs: Bugler plays Reveille (if available).

TBD hrs: No Stone Left Alone Representative to place wreath accompanied by student. Cue from Lead Soldier
UPON COMPLETION STUDENTS COMMENCE THE LAYING OF THE POPPIES OR ON ORDER FROM THE OPI
TBD hrs: The OPI will announce to the audience that they are welcome to go and pay their respects on the cemetery grounds while the students are laying the poppies. The military contingent will take the lead on paying of respects and move into the cemetery. When the students have completed their row, they are to hold in location at the end of the row until the last poppy is laid.
TBD hrs: Event complete, persons will be accounted for prior to leaving the location, once everybody is good to go the OPI will allow persons to depart.

Eternal God, creator and sustainer of all humanity, we thank you . . .
For all who have labored for liberty, justice and peace, for those who have given themselves in defense of freedom, mercy and good faith among the nations, and
For those who in life and death have protected our lives and through whose sacrifices we have prospered.
As we hold the dead in continual remembrance, enable us to walk with clean hearts, determined wills and great hope.
And help us to preserve the peace and fairness they defended.
We pray with hope and trust in your mercy and grace.

They were young, as we are young
